He Leads

He Leads

The Spirit Of The Lord

9. He Leads

Those who are led by God’s Spirit are God’s children. Romans 8:14

For us to be led by the Spirit of God means we always have to follow the word of God, His voice and direction. We see Him as our Lord, head, leader master, director and controller. If we do not put Him first in everything we do, it means we are not being led by Him. He should always be in front and we must always be behind following Him and His footsteps. If He turns right we turn right not left. To be able to do this, we must hear His voice and let Him direct us in all our ways and paths.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Psalm 37:23

Divine direction and counsel should be active in our lives apart from following the written word of God. It is those who are led by the Spirit of God that know their callings in life and follow God’s plans for their lives. If we are deaf to His voice and leading, we won’t know which way to go. We will be so blind and we will keep shifting according to the wind and copying others.

Some people are in ministries they should not be in. Some people are in jobs and countries that they should not be in and some people are in marriages that are outside God’s plan for their lives. They are not led and encounter all sorts of frustrations because they are led by their own flesh, desires, dreams and ambitions, Some people are even led by defeat and laziness, they go into activities, jobs and vocations that seem to be the easiest.

A vocation that seems easy to one man might seam difficult to another man. And a vocation that seems difficult to one man might seem easy to another man. Every Job and vocation is good provided it adds value to man and society. However, do not go into a job or vacation because it seems to be the easiest. Find out God’s plan for your life and follow it.

Every man born into this world has God given vocations, callings and talents. We are at our best when we are in the vocation that was assigned to us by God. Because we have our own will, we can get into activities and vocations that we have no business being in. This leads to struggles and frustrations.

When we live according to the leading of the Holy Spirit in God’s plan and vocations, a higher level of grace will be available. When we are in God’s plan for our lives, we must also pray for all grace to be available and to complete our own individual race or assignment regardless of what it is – teacher, doctor, preacher, scientist etc. Paul even knew when his assignment was coming to an end. That is the height of being led by the Holy Spirit.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7

My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. John 4:34

I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20: 23-24

Being led by the Holy Spirit makes life sweet and easy. It is the secret of success and many have tapped into this vast ocean of grace. May we recognise that the Holy Spirit is our leader and allow Him to lead us daily. I can firmly guarantee that if you let Him lead you, He will take you into the doorstep of success, peace and joy. May we all finish our individual races and fulfil our destinies in Jesus name.

Power Through His Spirit

Power Through His Spirit

The Spirit Of The Lord

6. Power Through His Spirit

That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, (Ephesians 3:16 NKJV)

That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, (Ephesians 3:17 NKJV)

I pray that he would give you, according to his glorious riches, strength in your inner being and power through his Spirit. Ephesians 3:16

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen (Ephesians 3:20 – 3:21 NKJV)

Might or power in the inner man means that Christ is dwelling in us. This means knowing and experiencing the love of Christ. Christ is the power and wisdom of God. He can live in you with a lot of glory and He can live in you with scanty or no glory. He is there but you won’t feel or experience His glory just like when the glory left Israel. Do you remember Ichabod ?- the glory has departed or no glory.

God is everywhere but His glory is not everywhere. His glory dwells in heaven and visits earth. However, He is in Hell as the omnipresent God in all of creation, but His glory is completely absent in Hell. Wrath or punishment is what lives in hell and these are caused by the human nature and disobedience not God.

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. Psalm 139:8

The power of Christ resting upon the spirit of man is the love of Christ. It is possible for us to be Christians yet Christ is not dwelling in the inner man. Rather, weakness, infirmity and decay dwells in the inner man. Paul said this prayer because he recognised the need to pray for us to be strengthened with might or power in the inner man. God is able to do this in Jesus name.

Christ already lives in us. This is talking about Christ as the power and glory of God. It is talking about His manifest presence dwelling in us. Christ’s Spirit lives in every believer but the glory in every believer varies. The Bible says we are being transformed from glory to glory. This means that the glory or manifest presence of Christ in us must keep increasing, till we are filled up, and surrounded by His very essence, beauty and glory.

Christ dwelling in us through faith means unwavering belief in the blood of Jesus that set us free, praying with expectation and not wavering or doubting. It means constant praise, worship, thanksgiving and rejoicing. We do all these with persistence and perseverance without turning back or giving up.

These are all acts of faith. Faith is a multidimensional concept with many variables. As long as we embrace and practice the variables of faith persistently with love, worship, thanksgiving, praise and expectation God will not fail us. He is a faithful God – if we draw near to Him in faith, He will draw near to us.

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? 1 Corinthians 3:16

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 3:20

And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:10-11

The Scripture topic at the beginning of this post is also talking about the attributes of God. Christ can live in us yet we have not yet crucified the flesh and the Holy Spirit is not controlling our lives. Christ refers to the power, word, wisdom, glory, and grace of God. The more grace of God we have, the more understanding of the Scriptures which builds faith.

The more grace we have, the more we are able to practice the word of God, are led by the Spirit and follow God’s plan for our lives. The more grace we have, the more we are generally able to please God. These will ensure the manifest presence of God resting on us and going with us everywhere. Meaning that Christ now dwells in us and walks with us.

Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. Exodus 33:15

Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so. Hebrews 13:9

Power resides in the grace of God and every good thing comes by the grace and ability of God. Man’s power is useless. The more we seek God and rely on His grace, the more successful we will be in our Christian lives. We cannot even have faith or practice the word of God without His grace so we must never forget the grace of God even as we seek Him and meditate on the Scriptures to build faith.

Only God and God alone can make us mature Christians. He alone can guarantee power in the inner man through His Spirit. He alone will enable Christ to dwell in us even as we wait upon Him and continue to seek His face daily.

He Was Upon Jesus

He Was Upon Jesus

The Spirit Of The Lord

6. He Was Upon Jesus

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of grace, truth, wisdom, glory, mercy, might, counsel, fear of the Lord, understanding, and knowledge; Jesus had all these in abundance. No wonder He was so successful. Unlike most humans, as Jesus grew, He grew in body and Spirit. His body did not leave His spirit behind when he was growing.

He ran His race with His body and Spirit, while a lot of believers are running faster than their spirits or running with just their bodies. In their spiritual lives, there is a massive disconnect between their bodies and spirits. By the time that they realise they left their spirits somewhere in the valley and decide to go back and unite with their spirits, a lot of mistakes would have been made. but glory to God, it is never too late to walk in the spirit with our spirits. Better late than never.

Jesus ran with His body and Spirit. That explains His great extraordinary life. He was filled and crowned with extraordinary and extravagant grace. He had limitless supply of the Holy Spirit.

“Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, the one I love, and with whom I am pleased. I will send my Spirit upon him, and he will announce my judgement to the nations. Matthew 11:2

The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,

The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,

The Spirit of counsel and might,

The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. (Isaiah 11:2 NKJV)

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. John 3:34

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, Philippians 1:19

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:13

And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Luke 2:52

The Child continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. Luke 2:40

And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he lived in the wilderness until he appeared publicly to Israel. Luke 1:80

Jesus had all the attributes of God made available to Him by the presence of the Holy Spirit on and with Him. He was filled with favour and grace. Imagine a human being filled with grace, what a wonder. Jesus as a human, was greatly endowed and decorated with grace. That grace gave Him all the ability that He needed and it came through the Spirit of grace that was constantly with Him.

The Holy Spirit was His Holy companion so He was constantly successful. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit to be effective and successful, then it is imperative that we realise that we cannot succeed without constant great supply of the Holy Spirit. He is our help and success and we need great grace upon us.

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33

Smile once again

For me

And my glory.

Child of destiny,

I remember when you

Were so happy

And so secure

Enjoying beauty and grace.

You were dazzling and lovely,

Decorated and crowned,

Swirling in the arms of love and mercy

Dancing with Angels

Eating with me.

Yes,

You ate at my chest

In my inner chamber

And courts

And I fed you with golden love

And drips of honey mixed with

Tender mercy and loving kindness.

Love overpowered you

And you called me darling

And sweetheart

As we became one

In worship.

You inhaled my breath

And became intoxicated with my

Fragrance and glory.

You danced for me

And never stopped

Because I was your joy

And constant delight.

I watched you dance and dance

And your dance of glory

Pleased me greatly.

Your new name became

Cherished

Treasured

And beloved

You never stopped muttering

Words of love and worship

To me

Your bridegroom and beloved.

What happened my child?

What happened?

You fell and lost touch

With my glorious presence.

There you are,

Sitting in the mud

By the village square

With your left hand

On your chin.

In your eyes

Your sorrow shows.

You are

Unhappy and defeated

Lost and tired.

I see you

Sighing and confused

Longing and dreaming

Wishing and hoping

For the treasures that

You lost.

Your face has a constant deep frown

Masked with dejection.

Your tears are blood and sorrow

And your gown is stained, rumpled and grey.

You lost your sparkling embroidered

White garment

And it seems like

All hope of finding it

Is gone.

Your make up is dust and ashes

You look rejected

And dejected

Lacking in luster

And beauty.

All who pass by you

Wonder at your calamity

Of beauty to ashes.

They shake their heads

In great amazement

And disbelief.

My beloved,

Rise up from that mud

And dirt

And shine once again.

Reconnect with me.

Start digging again,

And watch the biggest smile

Take over your face.

Smile once again,

My love

Smile for me

And my father

Because you are

Greatly loved and treasured.

Broken Wings

Broken Wings

You were a very beautiful bird

Free to fly and constantly flying.

Beautiful and graceful,

Gentle and tender.

You delighted in golden mountains

And blue rivers.

You drank from silver brooks

And Heaven’s springs

One day,

While you were asleep,

A snake sneaked into your room

And mercilessly broke your wings.

You woke up

Unaware of your calamity,

You flapped your silver wings

To fly,

And you couldn’t.

You looked at your side

And realized that your wings were

Broken.

You were overcome with grief

And wept bitterly.

You were inconsolable in your loss.

After a while,

You picked up courage

And struggled to fly again

But you couldn’t.

Confused and ashamed,

You ran into a grave

And hid yourself

To mourn your loss.

The pit became your home.

One hut afternoon

In summer,

You came out of your grave

To try again.

You looked left and right

To make sure you were alone.

You stood upon the earth,

and walked to an apple tree with shaky legs.

Under the apple tree,

You struggled to fly again.

As I watched you struggle and try to fly,

I was overcome by

My love and compassion

And I came down from my throne.

I carried you on my own wings, to the top

Of your favorite mountain.

And we talked for for months.

There I fed you with love and mercy

And I taught you

Great and powerful mysteries of love.

Most especially, I thought you how to

cling to my good news,

rejoice in my salvation and celebrate my redemption.

And you fell deeply in love

With me – Your teacher and redeemer.

When I saw that your love

Was very pure and acceptable,

I came upon you

And mended your broken wings and

Fixed it to perfection.

I crowned you with extraordinary grace.

Then I sat on my throne

And watched you fly.

You soared and soared,

Into the heavens and above the heavens.

You sang with the saints

And mingled with angels.

The inhabitants of Heaven

rejoiced with palm leaves and danced

For joy.

You were covered with diamond and gold

You became the most beautiful bird

My Cinderella.

I introduced you

To the highest echelons of society.

You wined and dined with princes

And lived your life in the rainbow

Of my afterglow – sparkling and shining.

I showed you off to all creation,

And I boasted with you

And delighted in you.

You are blessed Indeed,

O beloved princess of heaven!

How wonderful you are, O Lord

You have promised great things to

Your princes and princesses.

May we constantly

Trust you to mend our broken wings.

May we remain in constant fellowship with you until

We behold and experience your great glory.

Like many waters proceeding

From the gentle thud of your heartbeat,

Saying,

I love man so much

But man does not know the depth

And richness of my love.

In love I died for man

And in love I am patiently waiting

For man with my arms wide open.
