The Power of The Holy Spirit

The power of the Holy Spirit has been a major source of inspiration for many people for thousands of years.

The presence of the Holy Spirit can be felt in numerous ways, from providing comfort in difficult times to leading people on a spiritual journey.

It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that believers can rely on God for guidance, strength, and assurance of faith.

Throughout the Bible, there are many examples of how the power of the Holy Spirit can be used to assist believers in their walk with God.

In the Gospel of Luke, it is said that Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Luke 24:49) This verse demonstrates how the Holy Spirit is an essential part of being a witness for God’s kingdom, providing the power to carry out His will.

The power of the Holy Spirit is also seen in many passages throughout the Bible, where it is credited with bringing about miraculous events.

In Acts 1:8, it is said that Jesus told his disciples, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” This implies that through the power of the Holy Spirit, believers have the ability to bring about positive changes in their lives and the lives of others.

The power of the Holy Spirit should not be underestimated. It has always been present in the faith of believers throughout history and has provided guidance, strength, and assurance of faith.

Understanding how to tap into this source of power will help us to live our lives as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. By relying on the Holy Spirit’s strength, we can be sure that we can carry out the will of God and be successful in our mission.

FAITH IS THE KEY TO RECIEVING FROM GOD

big wooden cross on green grass field under the white clouds

Now faith is the [a]substance of things hoped for, the [b]evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

By faith we understand that the [c]worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.

By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrew 11: 1-6

Faith is simply the belief in God and His word. It is the full assurance that we have concerning our expectation or Hope. Faith can also be defined as responding to God’s word.

CHARACTERISTICS OF FAITH

  1. Faith is a present tense. Hebrew 11:1, Mark 11:24.
  2. It requires no physical evidence Hebrew 11:1, John 20:29
  3. It works by Love. Galatians 5:6
  4. Faith is a defense Ephesians 6:16, 1Peter 5:8-9.
  5. Faith is the key to answered prayers because it releases the power of God. Acts 14:8-10, Matthew 21:22, Mark 11:23.

HOW TO RELEASE YOUR FAITH

  1. Believe in God and the integrity of His word. Do not doubt God’s word because it is the only thing God exalted more than His name, hence, His word gives credibility to His name Hebrew 11:6, Romans 4:3, Psalm 138:2.
  2. Confess your belief; Faith grows in the atmosphere of confession. Confession is a proclamation of what you know to be true. Romans 10:10, Joshua 1:8, Mark 11:24.
  3. Act on God’s word; put your faith to work because faith without work is inoperative. James 2:20-26, Matthew 7:24-27
  4. Pray in the Holy Ghost. Jude 20.

Faith is a product of God’s word so to live by faith is to live out God’s word. We have being called to live our lives by faith because this is the only way we can please God.

Be Intentional About Fulfilling Your Destiny

To fulfill your destiny, you need to be serious, intentional and purposeful about it. You need to make a choice and be determined to follow the steps to fulfill it.

  1. Be prayerful and watchful. Seek God’s face. Pray for God to take you into your destiny and for you to live in God’s perfect will. Jesus fought for His destiny. You must fight for your destiny.
  2. Know and follow God’s plan for your life. Know your purpose on earth. God’s plan and purpose for your life is your destiny. Recently the Lord spoke to me and told me that the way to stop people from being trafficked sexually, is to connect victims to their purpose and give them a purpose. Living in God’s plan and purpose gives you fulfillment, happiness and protection. When you are protected by God, no one can sell or trafficking you. You need protection.
  3. Keep away from people that are against your destiny
  4. Keep away from negative people
  5. Do research on people, past and present with similar destinies like your own. Find out why some failed and some succeeded
  6. Determine to work hard and chase after your destiny. Do not look back or entertain negative thoughts about what you are called by God to do. Those negative thoughts come from the Devil. Remember when Peter was discouraging Jesus from His destiny. Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.. Matthew 16:23 Peter was distracting Jesus from God’s will
  7. Keep away from people who want to lead you into sin. Sin gives the devil an upper hand. Remember Joseph and Potiphar’s wife. Sin is how people sell their destinies. If Joseph had fallen for Satan’s temptation through Potiphar’s wife, his destiny would have been derailed. Remember that Esau sold his destiny because of food. That is how people sell their destinies spiritually through sin. Fornication, adultery and idolatry are the fastest ways to sell your destiny. You get pleasure and give away parts of your destiny and as you continue in those dangerous sins, you sell all your destiny. It is trade by barter. Sin is death. It attracts judgement and the word of God cannot be changed.

May the Lord Himself perfect all that concerns you. May He give you constant grace and ability to overcome sin. May great grace be upon you, in Jesus name.

THE HOPE OF SALVATION

The origin of sin can be ascribed to God’s first creation; Adam disobeyed God when he ate the forbidden fruit(of knowledge of good and evil) and, consequently, transmitted his sin and guilt by heredity to his descendants. source: https://www.britannica.com/topic/original-sin

Salvation is deliverance from the nature and consequence of sin. From the origin, the intent of God, He created us to fellowship with Him. That didn’t last for long as the first man Adam disobeyed God and man was sent out of God’s presence

Salvation is complete but is in three parts;

  1. The salvation of the spirit: this is our present reality. We have been regenerated, now we are the sons of God. This is the new birth experience; john 1:12, Romans 8:14,16, 1John 3:2a,  2Corinthians 5:17, Colossians 1:13 -14
  2. The salvation of the mind: this is an ongoing process; it is the sole responsibility of the believer to renew his mind to conform to what has happened in his spirit. Colossians 3:3, 10, Romans 12:1-2, Joshua 1:8.
  3. The salvation of the body: this has not occurred yet it will happen on the day Christ comes 1John 3:2. On that day, we shall drop his mortal body and put on an immortal body. 1Corinthians 15:44, 50-54.

From what we have seen salvation is not just a present reality but it carries a hope which is by far better than this present reality. This hope points to two important events:

  1. The resurrection of the dead
  2. Eternal Judgement

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the beloved of God, saved by grace through faith to a blessed hope

I cannot be disadvantaged because hope is my advantage

No matter what I go through, I know that my future is secure

My future is secured because in Christ I pay no attention to the lust of the flesh because I know one day, Immortality will swallow up mortality, because of this hope I purify myself.

I choose to live for Christ, separated from the world and unequally yoked with the world…Amen

1 Corinthians 16:13
Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage. Be strong.

To be a successful Christian you need courage, you need to be a warrior. First Corinthians 16:13 says, “be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage. Be strong.

God is telling you today, that you need to have courage, you need to be brave. The Apostles were men of courage. They were brave. Jesus was brave.

God loves humility but he does not like timidity. Even for you to go into the presence of God, you need boldness.

So let us keep on coming boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrew 4:16

So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved grace, and we will find help. Hebrew 4:16
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrew 4:16

Be alert. Stand firm in the faith. Do not give up. Persist and persevere and you will see the hand of God move in your life.
