Anointed

God’s Power 26

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. Acts 10:38
Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power. That was why He lived a constantly victorious life. You can be anointed with the Holy Spirit without being anointed with power. You can have all the fruits and so many gifts of the Holy Spirit yet, not be anointed with power.
Power gift is usually seen operating in the lives of Apostles and Evangelists. Some Prophets in the Old Testament had power gifts. Moses and Elijah are example of those who had fire or power from God. Joseph had the Spirit of God but he did not have power gifts.
So Pharaoh asked them, “Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?” Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you.” Genesis 31:38-40
The Spirit of the Lord was upon Jesus, to manifest love and mercy through Him. The same Holy Spirit is with us today, to manifest love and mercy upon us and through us, by His power.
May we cooperate with the Holy Spirit in His ministry of teaching, healing, deliverance and help. May we always recognize that it is only by the power of the Holy Spirit, that the church can be fruitful and effective.

Deliverance

God’s Power 25

The God of the people of Israel chose our ancestors; he made the people prosper during their stay in Egypt; with mighty power He led them out of that country. Acts 13:17
God used His mighty power to deliver the Israelites from cruel slavery and bondage. The Israelites were held captive by Pharaoh and his demonic powers.
God had to manifest great power through Moses, and Moses’s snake swallowed Pharaoh’s snake. His staff swallowed their own. That was symbolic of God’s power swallowing up the powers and gods of the Egyptians. Remember that staff represents power, and snake also represents power.
God executed judgement on the gods of Egypt and delivered His people.
On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn son and firstborn male animal in the land of Egypt. I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt, for I am the LORD! Exodus 12:12
“On that night I will go through the land of Egypt, killing every first-born male, both human and animal, and punishing all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD. Exodus 12:12
God almighty punishes gods, destroys gods and executes judgement on evil gods and powers who rob innocent victims spiritually, to save their own worshippers. They have no power – they only steal, kill, drink human blood and steal human glory. They are spiritual thieves and rapists.
God is still the same today. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. God’s power will swallow all the powers of our enemies. God will also execute judgement on the gods of our enemies and deliver us. God will give us justice against all our adversaries. That is why He is God – He will do what He said He will do.

Fully Persuaded

God’s Power 24

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. Romans 4:21
God made a promise to Abraham, and even when all odds were against him, Abraham did not give up his faith. He kept believing that God had power to do what He had promised him.
Most of the time, we do not hold on to God’s power and ability. We start looking at our circumstances and our faith starts shrinking.
It is only by unwavering belief, and faith in God’s power, combined with prayer, obedience and loyalty, that we overcome.
Sometimes, we need to persist in our belief that God’s power can and will deliver us from all evil.
May grace, mercy and peace, be ours in full measure. May great grace be upon us, in Jesus name.

Right Focus

God’s Power 23

It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. Romans 9:16-18
God as the creator of all things can actually permit you to have a fierce enemy that He will eventually defeat, then, manifest His power and justice on your behalf.
God raised Pharaoh up, so that He would display His power. God can choose to use anyone and anything to display His power.
Regardless of the pharaoh and Goliath in your life, God can display His power and magnify Himself. Battles must be fought, and winners must be declared.
Focus on how you can pray, and wait upon God for him to defeat your own pharaoh and enemy. Do not focus on the enemy or on what the enemy is doing.
God will definitely magnify Himself by defeating your enemies. They exist to be disgraced and defeated just as Pharaoh existed to be disgraced and defeated. Death also exists to be defeated at the end of time.
May grace, mercy and peace be ours, in full measure. May great grace, be upon us, in Jesus name.

Grow In Hope

God’s Power 22

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
It is only by the power of God that we grow in hope. The same way that the power of God makes us grow in hope, is the same way that it makes us grow in faith and love.
Faith, hope and love come through understanding of the word of God, and it is by the power of God‘s Spirit that we understand His word. Some scriptures build hope, some build love, while some build faith in God.
May we realize that we do not have the power to make it on our own. May grace, mercy and peace be ours in full measure. May great grace be upon us, in Jesus name.

Foundational Power

God’s Power 21

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18
The message of the cross is also the power of God. It is a foundational power not the glory or manifest presence of God. However, by walking in the word of God, you will be able to experience the glory of God. That is what makes the word powerful. It has the capacity to lead you along the right path, and out of the wrong pathway of sin.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. Romans 1:16
The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. Proverbs 4:18
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105
The message about the cross, death and sacrifice of Christ, and how God redeemed man is the message of salvation. It is only a saved man that can experience the power of God. The message can also make man love God more, trust Him more and depend on Him more.
It is a positive message that ultimately leads to a life of glory and power instead of shame and weakness.
May grace, mercy and peace be ours in full measure. May great grace be upon us in Jesus name.

The Power Of God

God’s Power 20

But to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1:24
Christ is the power of God. He is the visible likeness of the invincible God. He is the God that we can touch, feel and experience, spiritually. He is the cloud and fire that went with the Israelites. He is the glory of God.
That our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:1-4
Everything that God does, He does through His word, wisdom and power. He relates to man through Jesus, the word, wisdom and power of God.

Resting On

God’s Power 19

So that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. 1 Corinthians 2:5
Your faith always needs to rest on something. Most of the time, our faith rests on self, other humans or on our own faith and ability. That is why we are not successful in prayer and experiencing God’s favor. God commands that we must have faith, and tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please Him.
In order to have faith we must keep on dying to self and self glory and keep on increasing in our dependence and reliance on God’s power.
It is only God’s power that can make a difference. It is only God’s power that can heal, deliver and give you power to make wealth.
“And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:18
1 Corinthians 2:5, reminds us that our faith should not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power. God’s power destroyed death and raised Jesus from the dead. The sacrifice of Jesus is the power of God. Jesus is the power and wisdom of God.
We need to depend on God’s sacrifice and foundation which is the sacrifice of Jesus for our redemption. We also need to depend on God’s power and glory that God manifests from His throne of glory every moment, and every day, for our protection, healing, deliverance and prosperity.
Without faith, it is impossible to please God, so I pray that our faith will keep growing more and more as we read the Bible and cling to the word of God.
May grace, mercy and peace be ours in full measure. May great grace be upon us in Jesus name.
