The Lord spoke to me and said, “Child, you need to spend time with me.”
There is no short cut – the more you spend time with God, the more you will experience His life giving presence. This has consistently worked for me for several years.
Learn how to spend quality time with God in praise, worship, thanksgiving, prayer and reading the word of God and watch your christian life grow!
And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say,“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” (Revelation 4:8 ESV)
Just imagine it if we can worship like the four living creatures at the throne of God in heaven. Brethren, heaven is just a heartbeat away. It is not far from this earth because sometimes I blink and I am in heaven beholding the glory of God. If only we can learn to worship like these heavenly beings. When we begin to worship the way heaven worships, we will experience beauty and glory untold.
I know for the a fact that the times that the Holy Spirit comes upon me the most is when I spend hours worshipping God in the middle of the night. He always shows up. Paul and Silas got up at the middle of the night to worship God and the glory descended.
There is simply something about worship that moves our beloved Father. This is a mystery that man has not yet unraveled. But I will call it the mystery of love. Worship is a higher form of love and love must be expressed. The Lord has told me several times that all He wants is love. He has also told me to express my love to Him. We express love by words of worship and by complete obedience. Obedience is the unspoken form of worship.
May we key into this great love and worship of God and worship like the heavenly beings. Nothing else will do. The love of God is the only way to our Father’s glorious heart.
And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your bloodOut of every tribe and tongue and people and nation. (Revelation 5:9 NKJAnd have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” (Revelation 5:10 NKJV)
Jesus Christ was slain and by His sacrificial death and blood, He redeemed us to God by His precious blood. God saved us with His own blood. He healed us, washed us, transformed us and set us free – glory to God. The blood of Jesus has set us free. Regardless of the report that you hear the word of God is true and constant. Let God be true and every man a liar.
Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. Acts 20:28
And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:11
The twenty four elders in Rev elations 5:8 fell down before the Lamb and worshiped Him with musical instruments. That is the attitude in heaven and we, as pilgrims on earth who are citizens of heaven must constantly emulate and imitate the heavenly worship and order. We must constantly worship Christ and celebrate Him for the redemption and forgiveness He achieved for us on the cross – nothing else will do. We must be loyal and obedient in thanksgiving, praise and worship. We might not understand our salvation fully until we get to heaven but we must rejoice in it and celebrate it as an act of faith and obedience.
The four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints (Revelation 5:8 NKJV)
We must therefore always rejoice and celebrate God’s love, mercy and grace because our salvation is a great and powerful salvation. The sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross and our redemption should constantly evoke thanksgiving, love, worship, praise, respect, honor and obedience towards God. We must constantly meditate on this good news of our salvation that builds faith, love, praise and thanksgiving towards God.
The mercy and grace of God is not a small thing at all but when we do not meditate on the good news of our salvation, our minds will shrink and look down on it. We will turn back and begin to look at self, the world and the devil and magnify circumstances instead of God. Once we begin to look down on it, faith, thanksgiving, rejoicing, celebration, love and obedience will reduce. It is possible to look down on the blood of Jesus and despise Him even as Christians. Ingratitude comes from despising the blood of Jesus and a lot of Christians are ungrateful. God said that He will not be pleased with anyone that turns back.
What, then, of those who despise the Son of God? who treat as a cheap thing the blood of God’s covenant which purified them from sin? who insult the Spirit of grace? Just think how much worse is the punishment they will deserve! 30 For we know who said, “I will take revenge, I will repay”; and who also said, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God! Hebrews 10:29 – 31
Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded. Proverbs 13:13
And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back. Hebrews 10:38
There was a time I did not know that I was ungrateful and that I despised Christ (the word of God) but the Lord took me in a vision and showed me that I was being ungrateful. At that time, the word of God, the gospel or the good news was very scanty in me. I knew Christ’s law but I did not know the good news. I had heard of it but it was not living in my heart. As a result, I was not rejoicing in my salvation or celebrating my freedom by the blood of Jesus. Jesus then took me in a vision to heaven and told me to worship Him instead of despising Him. He said to me, ‘don’t despise me, don’t despise me, worship me!’ Then I understood that we can think that we love God so much yet, if we reject the good news, we are despising Him instead of loving Him.
But don’t be glad because the evil spirits obey you; rather be glad because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20
We must constantly rejoice in and celebrate Jesus and His great salvation that came through His precious blood. We have enough reason to be grateful and thankful towards God. Our salvation alone is enough to make us rapturous in praise, thanksgiving and worship regardless of our circumstances. Nothing compares to our salvation – not even miracles and all the wealth in this world. Our constant source of joy should be our salvation. We should be clean from the inside out. Jesus told His Disciples to rejoice because their names are written in heaven.
The same applies to us. We must rejoice because our names are written in Heaven – that is not a small thing at all. Those who are constantly sad are not rejoicing. They are looking at their circumstances and problems instead of looking at the word of God and their great salvation. When you focus on your problems, you will be sad and defeated and will find it difficult to celebrate Christ and His great salvation.
If you think that God is small and your salvation is small, then that will be your reality but if you magnify God, His power and your salvation, you will experience glory. When you spend time waiting upon the Lord in worship, thanksgiving, praise, celebration, rejoicing, faith and petitions asking for the fullness of God’s Holy Spirit, you will be filled with the Holy Spirit.
May God give us the grace to constantly seek His face and wait upon Him while clinging to the good news of salvation and redemption.
And with Your glory all the day. (Psalm 71:8 NKJV)
This is such a wonderful Scripture from the mouth of God. Many years ago, God impressed this Scripture in my mind and I fell in love with it. I thought within me, “how wonderful it would be if my mouth could exalt and glorify God all day.” Of course I could not praise God twenty four hours a day. However, I developed an attitude of praise, worship and thanksgiving.
I made up my mind to consciously chase after Christ by worshipping God always. Christ is the face of God so by chasing after Christ, I was constantly seeking the face of God.
Whenever I fall short in worship, praise and thanksgiving, the Holy Spirit would say to me, ‘ give me my food.’ His food is His desire and pleasure. He loves worship and praise. He also loves purity and Holiness.
Sometimes my eyes would be closed and He would just write it out for me, ‘thanksgiving.’ At other times, He would also write, ‘praise.’
He would say to me, ‘tell me how much you love me and why you love me.’ We must remember that heaven is a place of praise and worship. God simply loves praise and worship because when we exalt Him, our focus goes to Him instead of our problems, circumstances and difficulties.
Most especially, we need to focus on the fact that Jesus died for us and His blood set us free. We need to rejoice in and celebrate God’s great deliverance on the cross and His power. That is what the devil hates.
The devil knows that God loves and desires constant worship so he provides distractions to discourage us. The Bible tells us to thank God in all circumstances and to rejoice in the Lord always. God really loves worship.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
I pray that our mouths will be filled with His praise and glory all day. May we constantly praise and glorify Him.
