Flee Immorality

Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body (1 Corinthians 6:18 NKJV)
This Scripture reminds us about fleeing sexual immorality. A lot of Christians are complacent about this godly instruction, however that is a great deception. The Bible tells us that when we are sexually immoral, we harm our bodies and sin against it.
Our bodies certainly deserve respect and sexual immorality disrespects the body and treats it like an object of pleasure to others and to ourselves.
Brethren, do not let any deceiving false brother or sister lure you into this dangerous sin. Do not be like those in the world and emulate their errors. The creator has decreed that sex is for expression of love within marriage. Sex must be accompanied with responsibly, sacrifice, commitment, loyalty, selflessness, sacrificial love, understanding, altruism and empathy. That is what makes us higher beings and differentiates us from the lower creatures. We must not descend low and become inferior to our high calling in Christ. We must pursue selfless sacrificial love, not pleasure. Pleasure without self control destroys.
We are free and have free wills but freewill should not lead to our destruction. We are free but we are not free to commit sin. Sin has a death penalty attached to it so how free are we?
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. Deuteronomy 30:19
Our freedom should not lead us to reject God’s laws and reject life. God has placed life and death before us and we must accept life.
