Day By Day

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. (2 Corinthians 4:16 NKJV)

This Scripture tells us that we are being renewed, day by day. We are constantly being renewed in Christ and by Christ. Sometimes it will seem like we are physically perishing and decaying because of the physical challenges and affiliations that we face, however our inner man is being renewed by God.

As long as we are seeking Him and pleasing Him in Spirit and in truth, we must not be discouraged or fear. After renewal comes glory and when glory appears, shadows and difficulties disappear into the night where they belong. When glory appears light rules and reigns and no darkness will survive there. However, we must keep marching forward to the place of glory without giving up.

As we trust God, depend on Him, walk in Him and not give up, God Himself will perfect all that concerns us and our temporary afflictions will give way to power and glory. May we never look back in Jesus name. Amen.

Marching Forward

But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. (Hebrews 10:39 ESV)

This scripture is telling us that those who shrink back from following Christ get destroyed. We are encouraged to have faith and preserve our souls. The only way to do this is to follow Christ at all cost – In plenty and hunger, poverty and wealth, sickness and health, sadness and joy.

God does not like the bad times but sometimes, we pass through difficulties as a result of inherited afflictions, trials, judgement or persecution.

In times like this, we must respond positively by seeking God’s help and grace but we must never give up or say it is God’s will. God does not enjoy evil or seeing people suffer.

All we need to do is be humble enough to wait upon Him and seek His face in prayer, obedience and worship. He wants absolute trust and dependence and as he sees our loving and positive response to difficulties, he steps in and rescues us.

We must not turn back but keep marching forward to spiritual maturity and heaven.

An Opportunity

When the enemy comes in like a flood,

The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19 NKJV)

When sorrow comes
Like a flood
We must see this as
An opportunity to
Be steadfast in
Loving Christ
And rejoicing in Him
Who has the power to crush
Sorrow.
It is an opportunity
To pray and depend
On God.

When our enemies come
Against us
He who destroys
With the breath of
His mouth
Will lift up a standard
Against them
And destroy them.

Sorrow is never pleasant
And God does not
Want us to be in sorrow
However, because we
Are human, we are
Not immune to it
God feels our pains
And sorrows
And will finally wipe
Out all sorrows
At the end of time.

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4 NKJV)

Now that we are
Still in time
We can overcome
Sorrow by constant
Prayer and an attitude
Of constant joy
And delighting in Christ
For His blood that
Set us free
Through thanksgiving, praise
And worship
It is in prayer, praise
And worship
That He manifests

Trouble Does Not Discriminate

Trouble does not discriminate

It is an illiterate

And very disrespectful

The rich also cry

Everyone has trouble

Big or small

Trouble does not announce

It’s arrival

It comes like

A thief

The brave overcome

Many troubles

And many waters

Because

They remain calm

In trouble

You cannot buy your

Way out of trouble

A trouble free existence

Is fraudulent

It is a mirage

Trouble develops

You

If it is godly sorrow

Prayer is the voice

Of men in trouble

Prayer is a companion

Of trouble

Because when trouble knocks

All you can do is pray
