Faith Alone

Faith Alone

dream (1)

Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ (Matthew 7:22 NKJV)

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Matthew 7:21-23 NIV

This is an example of a popular Scripture that highlights the importance of not just believing but also doing the will of God.

Points to note

The people that Jesus was referring to:

1. Believed that Jesus is Lord

2. Had faith because they believed in the the Lordship of Jesus and His Significance

3. Had spiritual gifts

4. Did not do the will of God

Jesus told them that He did not know them because they did not do his will while on earth. Jesus wants to know us and He knows us by our commitment to Him and His will.

Reminder:

Faith alone is not enough, we must do the will of God to make heaven. Also, doing good works without believing that Jesus is Lord and that His blood saved us will not take us to heaven. Faith is vital but we must also express that faith in action or works to really prove that we have faith.

Just like the old song says, ” Trust and obey for there is no other way.”

Jesus constantly emphasized doing the will of God, building your life on the rock and abiding in His word and will. Belief and faith precedes obedience so we must believe because without faith it is impossible to please God. However, if we just believe and never obey, we are like the ones that heard the word of God but did not build their lives on it and when the winds and waves came, they crashed terribly.

May God help us to live above the deception of faith alone and, “it does not matter.” It matters – life style matters.

Overlook That Speck

Overlook That Speck

over expectation kills relationships

And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? (Matthew 7:3 NKJV)

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? “Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye (Matthew 7:4 – 7:5 NKJV)

The Scripture admonishes us against looking at speck in other peoples lives. We must learn how to mind our own business, control our tongues and stop all forms of negative communication – criticisms, backbiting and gossiping. They stain our garments and aura.

Stop looking at imperfections, weaknesses, flaws, faults and sins in other peoples lives. Judge and criticize yourself. The Bible says that if we judge ourselves we will not be judged by the Lord. There is only one judge and lawgiver – God. Instead of being negative and always criticizing, encourage and be positive towards others. You want to make others perfect and you expect perfection from them, yet you are not perfect.

I have come across people who constantly look at faults and flaws in others. It is as if they are incapable of seeing anything else but flaws. They are always sad and constantly fight because all they see is the negative. They are very sensitive and all they do is complain, and grumble about others. Such people keep everyone around them unhappy with their negative attitude. They seem oblivious of one fact themselves – that they are also not perfect. That is a very unbalanced and unhealthy way to live – positivity can be learned.

Over expectation kills relationships – love people the way they are. Everybody will not be mature in one day and a lot of people will never be spiritually mature here on earth -that is the uncomfortable and bitter truth.

Nobody wants to be around a negative critical person so it is better for us to focus on ourselves and judge ourselves instead of being negative towards others.

God loves us with our weaknesses so we must also love others with their weaknesses. Love must be unconditional – we must not expect people to be perfect before we can love them or love them completely. May God help us, empower us and enable us to understand peoples weakness and accept them with love and compassion.

He Is The Spirit Of Faith

The Spirit Of The Lord

15. He is the Spirit of faith

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,“ we also believe and therefore speak, (2 Corinthians 4:13 NKJV)

The Holy Spirit is the spirit that produces faith. Any one who is trying to produce faith by his own power lacks humility and wisdom. Faith is spiritual and the author, source and giver of faith is the Holy Spirit. It is only when the word of God dwells in the hearts of men without expulsion that a men have faith. It is only by the Holy Spirits power that we can retain and not expel the word of God.

But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” Matthew 13:23

Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop–a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Mathew 13:8

The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. Matthew 13:37

If we study the parable of the sower, we will observe that it is the son of man than plants the word of God in the hearts of men represented as different qualities of soil. The son of man plants the word of God by His Holy Spirit that is here on earth. It is also the son of man that breaks the soil and makes the soil a good soil, capable of accepting the good news and the commandments of God.

He prunes and purifies us by His Holy Spirit in order to enable full indwelling of the word. That is only when the fruits including faith are produced a hundred fold.

The Holy Spirit is all we need and He alone can produce mature faith and purity in us. The kind of faith that relies and depends on God not on self or our own faith. He alone is the author and giver of faith. Glory to God!

He Glorifies Jesus

He Glorifies Jesus

The Spirit Of The Lord

4. He Speaks About Jesus and Glorifies Him

The Holy Spirit who reveals the truth about God glorifies Jesus. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will speak about Him. This means that anyone who claims to work with the Holy Spirit must glorify Jesus .

If we go through the Scriptures, we will see that Jesus is referred to as the way, the word, truth, life, glory, power, mercy, resurrection, light, wisdom, grace. These are all spiritual qualities. When the Bible refers to God as the father of mercies, grace, glory, light etc it means that God is the source, author and only giver of mercy, Life, grace, wisdom etc

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit that will always glorify the word of God, the truth of God, the wisdom of God, the mercy of God, the grace of God, the way of God and the power of God.

The mercy of God is the death of Jesus on the cross. The Holy Spirit will always magnify, speak about and exalt the death of Jesus on the cross as the only sacrifice and way into the mercy of God.

The Holy Spirit will magnify God as the only way to life and will never present alternatives that contradict the word of God. The Holy Spirit will magnify the Power of God and not encourage man to depend on himself, others or demon idols. The arm of flesh fails man.

This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD. Jeremiah 17:5

This Scripture is not referring to man as only relying on others, when you rely on yourself and refuse to depend on God’s power and mercy, you defeat yourself. The word of God said so, not me. The truth is that if man could save, there won’t be people with terminal illnesses.

Someone might says, “hey Laura, I depended on myself and my efforts to pass many though exams and obtain a great job and build a large business empire.” Ok, I get that but what of when you develop a terminal illness and the doctor fails? Is that not evidence that man does not have power? Power belongs to God alone and it is only the Holy Spirit that glorifies the power of God and teaches us to depend on God’s power instead of the flesh or demon idols.

Any other teaching you hear out there telling you how great and powerful man is, is a lying and deceptive spirit. The false teachers are mostly wealthy because the devil has given them wealth to deceive.

Do not be deceived and think that because the teacher of a false doctrine is rich so you will be rich by believing in his misleading teachings. It is all the more you look, the less you see. It is a big scam. It is all about scammers catching and scamming the impure.

He catches the wise in their craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are swept away. Job 5:13

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; 1 Corinthians 3:19

I know someone who believes in The Secret and the Law of Attraction. I warned him by telling him that it does not work. The teachers are wealthy but the followers are misled. So many people I know who believe it kept believing it and some died poor and sick and never benefited from the law of attraction.

I said to him, “ It works for those who have powers or demons in their aura. When they confess, it comes to pass because the powers bring the confessions to reality – simple. It is power that matters in life, the mind is limited in it’s ability. It is only power that can enable a man to confess and it will come to pass not wishful thinking in the mind.

Another acquaintance of mine confessed to me that when she started reading ’The Secret’ all the time she always wished things and those things came to pass. She said to me, “it’s magic and I was so scared.” I said to her,  ’you must have some powerful family idols,’ and she told me that I must be right because all her life she always wished things and saw results except that ability became very pronounced when she started reading The Secret.

She said she was so sacred that she threw the book away. It worked for her because she already had demons in her aura. The secret just taught her how to tap deeper into the demons. Others practised ’The Secret’ and it did not work because they were clean and had no demon idols in their aura. It is also possible that some end up possessed by reading the book and some don’t. That is why it works for some people and fails others. However, the percentage of people it works for is very small.

We must be very careful. Power belongs to God alone. Christians who practice magic have deserted Jesus for harlotry. Any Spirit and teaching that does not glorify the power of God and the blood of Jesus is not the Holy Spirit. It is only the Holy Spirit that glorifies and speaks of Jesus, the power and wisdom of God.

So let us be mindful of all sorts of false doctrines out there and only listen to the one that glorifies Jesus.

But to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1:24

He will give me glory, because he will take what I say and tell it to you. John 16:14

The Helper will come—the Spirit, who reveals the truth about God and who comes from the Father. I will send him to you from the Father, and he will speak about me. John 15:26

Child of destiny,

I remember when you

Were so happy

And so secure

Enjoying beauty and grace.

You were dazzling and lovely,

Decorated and crowned,

Swirling in the arms of love and mercy

Dancing with Angels

Eating with me.

Yes,

You ate at my chest

In my inner chamber

And courts

And I fed you with golden love

And drips of honey mixed with

Tender mercy and loving kindness.

Love overpowered you

And you called me darling

And sweetheart

As we became one

In worship.

You inhaled my breath

And became intoxicated with my

Fragrance and glory.

You danced for me

And never stopped

Because I was your joy

And constant delight.

I watched you dance and dance

And your dance of glory

Pleased me greatly.

Your new name became

Cherished

Treasured

And beloved

You never stopped muttering

Words of love and worship

To me

Your bridegroom and beloved.

What happened my child?

What happened?

You fell and lost touch

With my glorious presence.

There you are,

Sitting in the mud

By the village square

With your left hand

On your chin.

In your eyes

Your sorrow shows.

You are

Unhappy and defeated

Lost and tired.

I see you

Sighing and confused

Longing and dreaming

Wishing and hoping

For the treasures that

You lost.

Your face has a constant deep frown

Masked with dejection.

Your tears are blood and sorrow

And your gown is stained, rumpled and grey.

You lost your sparkling embroidered

White garment

And it seems like

All hope of finding it

Is gone.

Your make up is dust and ashes

You look rejected

And dejected

Lacking in luster

And beauty.

All who pass by you

Wonder at your calamity

Of beauty to ashes.

They shake their heads

In great amazement

And disbelief.

My beloved,

Rise up from that mud

And dirt

And shine once again.

Reconnect with me.

Start digging again,

And watch the biggest smile

Take over your face.

Smile once again,

My love

Smile for me

And my father

Because you are

Greatly loved and treasured.

Blessed From The Womb

Blessed From The Womb

For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. (Luke 1:15 NKJV)

A lot of Christians struggle so hard to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is in every believer but every believer is not filled with the Holy Spirit. The Bible talks about being filled with the Holy Spirit, being led by the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit upon and the Holy Spirit with a believer.

Do not get drunk with wine, which will only ruin you; instead, be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5::18

The prophets of the Old Testament had the Holy Spirit. Remember Joseph and Daniel. Who gave them abilities to interpret dreams and see visions? The Holy Spirit did. The Holy Spirit in John made Him a great prophet and he was great in the sight of God. This same John told us that we will be baptised with the Holy Spirit and fire.

I baptise you with water to show that you have repented, but the one who will come after me will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire. He is much greater than I am; and I am not good enough even to carry his sandals. Matthew 3:1

A lot of people struggle to be filled with the Holy Spirit but John was filled with the Holy Spirit from the womb. This shows that being filled with the Holy Spirit is a gift and a promise. It is not for the unclean and idol worshippers. John’s parents were clean and God chose them to give birth to John. We can see that our bloodline is very important in life. We need to lay good foundations for our children.

Bad foundation of idol worship can make an innocent child to be filled with evil spirits from the womb – poor child. He will come into this life battling and wresting with giants simply because His parents were disobedient and not wise. As for John, he came into this world blessed. There is no greater blessing than the blessing and favour of being filled with the Holy Spirit.

A person that is born filled with evil spirits usually experiences fear, torture, hardship, failure, difficulties and illnesses while a person that is filled with the Holy Spirit will experience love, joy, peace, and all the fruits of the Holy Spirit. He will manifest the gifts of the Holy Spirit and be healthy because the Holy Spirit gives life. Anyone who is consistently filled with the Holy Spirit will experience the fruits of life not the fruits of death.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22 – 5:23 NKJV)

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you–they are full of the Spirit and life. John 6:63

it is he who made us capable of serving the new covenant, which consists not of a written law but of the Spirit. The written law brings death, but the Spirit gives life. 2 Corinthians 3:6

All of us, then, reflect the glory of the Lord with uncovered faces; and that same glory, coming from the Lord, who is the Spirit, transforms us into his likeness in an ever greater degree of glory. 2 Corinthians 3:18

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:11

So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. 1 Corinthians 15:45

We can learn from the example of John to keep our bloodline pure and Holy so that our children do not inherit demon idols, evil spirits and afflictions. We can also determine within ourselves to run into the blood of Jesus for cleansing power. Regardless of the how many demons or afflictions that we inherited from polluted bloodline, the blood of Jesus and the Holy Ghost power is greater.

The Bible says that we are blessed in Christ Jesus. All we need is to activate the power of God through the blood of Jesus and the fullness of the Holy Spirit. We do this by seeking the face of God and waiting upon Him. Once that happens, and we persist, our spirits and aura will become cleansed and we will experience liberty and freedom.

The blood of Jesus is powerful and active – stronger than any and every affliction. May we taste Him and drink Him like the Israelites. When His glory appears, we will be filled by Him like John the Baptist.

Our Expectation

Our Expectation

For the needy shall not always be forgotten; The expectation of the poor shall not perish forever. (Psalm 9:18 NKJV)

May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Our expectation is our hope. This Scripture clearly promises that our expectation will not perish so we must hang in there without wavering or shaking. Hope is so precious that when it is deferred it makes the heart sick (Proverbs 13:12).

We must put on expectation as we go into prayer to ask God for grace and blessings. Abraham had expectation because he kept believing that the promise of God for Him would come to pass.

Perished expectation means that we do not trust God or have faith in Him. It signifies defeat and discouragement. However, our expectations will not perish – we will receive them in Jesus Name.

However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20

It is only the Holy Spirit that gives hope and increases the hope in us. May we be filled with hope and never give in to despair or hopelessness. May we cling to the hope that we have for what we are expecting God to do for us. Most especially, may we always put on the hope of salvation and rejoice because of our final home in the city of wonders – Heaven.
