Flee Immorality

Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body (1 Corinthians 6:18 NKJV)

This Scripture reminds us about fleeing sexual immorality. A lot of Christians are complacent about this godly instruction, however that is a great deception. The Bible tells us that when we are sexually immoral, we harm our bodies and sin against it.

Our bodies certainly deserve respect and sexual immorality disrespects the body and treats it like an object of pleasure to others and to ourselves.

Brethren, do not let any deceiving false brother or sister lure you into this dangerous sin. Do not be like those in the world and emulate their errors. The creator has decreed that sex is for expression of  love within marriage. Sex must be accompanied with responsibly, sacrifice, commitment, loyalty, selflessness, sacrificial love, understanding, altruism and empathy. That is what makes us higher beings and differentiates us from the lower creatures. We must not descend low and become inferior to our high calling in Christ. We must pursue selfless sacrificial love, not pleasure. Pleasure without self control destroys.

We are free and have free wills but freewill should not lead to our destruction. We are free but we are not free to commit sin. Sin has a death penalty attached to it so how free are we?

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. Deuteronomy 30:19

Our freedom should not lead us to reject God’s laws and reject life. God has placed life and death before us and we must accept life.

Thank you so much for the lovely and encouraging response. Grace and blessings to you always ❤️❤️❤️🙏

  • Yes! Truth. And I have been praying against the grip the evil porn industry has on so many people and recognize it is adultery as Jesus taught in Matthew 5:27 on. If we keep praying for truth to free people.

  • This fits right into Acts 15 where we learn what the Apostles ruled…one of the four things required is no fornication…here is parts of the Scripture: “And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.”

  • Laura: Thru the godly instruction of various brothers and sisters over the years I came to understand that when one sins sexually by adultery, fornication, or even homo sex (which is worse than the others tho none of them are good in any way), that because sexual union is not only the uniting / joining of two to become one in body, BUT ALSO IN SOUL & SPIRIT.
Those who have multiple partners are thus joined spiritually with every one of not only those partners, but with whomever those partners had joined with previously. These are chains that once repented of have to be broken with the authoirity of Yeshua and the power of His Holy Spirit (Ruach ha Qodesh).

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful truth. That is a real eye opener to the undiscerning. Sexual sin looks simple but it is not simple at all -it is complex and dangerous.

Imagine the joining and union of body, soul and spirit with sexual partners and all their previous and current partners. Breaking such powerful bond can only be possible by the power of Yeshua. 🙏❤️

    Perfect post

  • We are free, but we are not free to commit sin…Amen!

Good, true words, especially since sexual sin is so prevalent in our society and even forced onto other countries by our own country.

We all need to repent of this sin, even if we ourselves have not directly been involved.

On the other side of the coin is forgiveness. We need to forgive and accept the brother or sister who has sinned and repented. Unfortunately, I don’t see this happening much either. Somehow sexual sins have become an unforgivable sin. I’m not going to list the couple taboo topics that even the world condemns, but we mustn’t forget that ours is not the place to condemn. Consider Yeshua (Jesus) and the woman caught in adultery that was brought before him. He didn’t condemn her, but did call on her to quit sinning. In a likewise manner, we need to call out for repentance, but love those struggling.

    Very timely words from you.

Your words are so true and full of light. We need to repent even if we have not directly been involved and we also need to forgive. We need to call out for repentance and love those struggling. I have told some people in discussions that we need to forgive more and allow God and the law to run its course because if a law has been broken, we leave it to the law but where no law has been broken, we need to forgive and show love – we also leave it to God. We must stop every form of bitterness, hatred and revenge. Thanks for the response ❤️🙏

So true, though I would take it one step further (and you probably meant this). Yes, when a law is broken it must be answered to. But even those convicted of sex crimes, actually of any crime, when repentant, must be forgiven and loved and received back into fellowship (and yes, depending on circumstances, some restrictions may be needed). Unfortunately, the church is not teaching or living this, for the most part. The apostle Paul wrote (paraphrased) ‘those unworthy of honor should be treated with more honor.’ We need to live as Yeshua (Jesus) lived, and that is in all areas of life. Thanks for your words and for poking into topics that need to be discussed! Shalom! – Yosef
