Discipline: The Secret to Spiritual Power and Success
Hello, welcome to another message.
Today, I’m going to be talking about discipline and why you should make sure that you are disciplined in everything that you do.
We’re going to focus mainly on spiritual discipline, but you can also apply discipline to every area of your life — physical activities, projects, finances, relationships, business, and personal growth.
If you want to experience success emotionally, financially, physically, and spiritually, you must master the art of discipline.
The Lord spoke to me and said:
“Discipline means that you don’t feel like it, but you do it anyway.”
That statement stayed with me deeply.
You may not feel like praying.
You may not feel like reading the Word.
You may not feel like worshipping.
But discipline means you do it because of the result it produces.
That is true discipline.
When you look at the life of Jesus Christ, you see a life of discipline. Everything He did, He did intentionally. He was not controlled by emotions or feelings. He did what needed to be done.
In the same way, you must do what you need to do in order to become who God wants you to be and get to where God wants you to get to.
If you want spiritual victory and consistent growth with God, discipline must become your lifestyle. You cannot separate success from discipline.
One major area where discipline is important is in how you use your time.
You must learn to remove low-value activities from your life. Many distractions rob people of greatness and spiritual growth. Some activities drain your time but add no value to your destiny.
Learn to guard your time wisely.
Now, let’s focus on the spiritual aspect.
When it is time to pray, pray.
When it is time to seek God, seek Him wholeheartedly.
When it is time to fellowship with God, make sure you focus.
Spend quality time in the presence of God and learn how to fellowship with Him in a way that produces spiritual results.
Spiritual results matter.
What are spiritual results?
It means being constantly filled with the Holy Spirit.
It means walking in the glory and presence of God daily.
It means producing the fruits of the Spirit and operating in the gifts of the Spirit.
It means hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit clearly and walking in divine direction and guidance.
You can only sustain this kind of spiritual life through discipline and proper time management.
You must learn how to remove distractions and focus on the things that draw you closer to God.
Being filled with the presence of God is true spiritual success.
That was how Jesus lived. He constantly walked in the fullness and power of the Holy Spirit.
No matter what you achieve in life, if you are not walking in the Spirit and consistently experiencing the presence of God, then you have not mastered spiritual success.
That is the area of discipline I want to emphasize today.
You must discipline yourself to spend time consistently in God’s presence so you can continually walk in divine glory.
Yesterday night, just as I was about to fall asleep, the Lord spoke to me.
He said:
“I should be your number one date.”
At first, I did not fully understand what He meant.
But then the Lord explained further. He said that I must constantly spend time with Him.
The Lord spoke in a way that captured my attention.
And immediately, I understood what He meant.
He was calling me into deeper fellowship with Him through His Word.
You must constantly spend time with the Word of God because the Word is alive. Whenever I spend time meditating on the Word, I hear God clearly.
When you spend time in the Word, you are fellowshipping with Jesus and with the Holy Spirit.
As long as you understand the principles of fellowship and apply them consistently, you will continue to experience spiritual growth and transformation.
So what am I really saying?
Learn to discipline yourself to spend time in God’s presence daily.
Walk moment by moment in the Spirit.
This kind of life does not come through constant entertainment and distractions. It comes through discipline.
Spend time listening to the Word of God.
Meditate on the Scriptures.
Praise Him.
Thank Him for salvation, healing, deliverance, and redemption.
Keep your heart pure.
Stay away from sin and anything that pollutes your spirit.
The Lord has also spoken to me several times about the importance of joy.
You must remain joyful in the presence of God.
Develop the habit of rejoicing in the Lord always.
As you spend time with God, put on the full armor of God. Learn how to praise Him, thank Him, and present your petitions before Him.
Ask Him to fill you with His presence and glory.
Remember, you must ask in order to receive.
Do not forget to bring your needs before Him because Jesus Christ is our High Priest who supplies all our needs.
Deliverance comes through discipline.
Success comes through discipline.
As long as you remain consistent with God, He will walk with you, strengthen you, and reveal Himself to you.
You will continually experience His presence and glory.
You will become spiritually strong.
You will become a warrior.
You will become a champion.
The Lord will teach your hands to war and your fingers to fight.
He will bring you into the place of glory He desires for all His children.
When you live this way, you will become a fulfilled and joyful Christian.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Have a blessed day.
