Constantly Pray To God For Wisdom

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. James 1:5-8

The child grew and became strong; he was full of wisdom, and God’s blessings were upon him. Luke 2:40

Jesus grew both in body and in wisdom, gaining favor with God and people. Luke 2:52

I have always loved James 1:5. The Bible advises us to ask for wisdom in faith without doubting. Wisdom is the foundation for a successful Christian life. Jesus Himself was full of wisdom and is the wisdom of God. It is only God that gives wisdom and He can never deny anyone that craves and asks for wisdom in faith. We simply have to keep digging for the hidden treasure.

So then, friends, choose seven men among you who are known to be full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, and we will put them in charge of this matter. Acts 6:3

But the Spirit gave Stephen such wisdom that when he spoke, they could not refute him. Acts 6:10

Wisdom is a hidden treasure that leads to another hidden treasure – the manifest presence of God. Jesus Himself is that hidden treasure. He is the wisdom of God, the glory of God and the mercy of God. He is the visible likeness of the invincible God. People think that visible likeness of the invincible God refers only to when He appeared on earth. The Bible used the word is. That means He is not He was.

But for those whom God has called, both Jews and Gentiles, this message is Christ, who is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1:24

The glory of God is the visible likeness of the invincible God. We cannot see God but we can see His glory – Jesus. We can touch, feel, taste and experience the glory of God with our spirits in the spirit world. The glory of God appears and disappears in the spirit world. If we are in the physical and see the glory of God, it is our spiritual eyes that are seeing what is happening in the spiritual world.

Anytime you see the glory of God you have seen Jesus. That is why He said that we must eat Him and drink Him in order to have life. To eat Him and drink Him means to experience His glory or manifest presence.

Without wisdom, we will not know how to pray or experience that glory. So you see how important wisdom is. Wisdom is given to us as we read the word of God and pray for wisdom, revelation and understanding. The word of God is both the written word and the voice of God spoken directly through the Holy Spirit to us. It is the Holy Spirit that gives wisdom. He is also the one that explains, interpreters and gives meaning to the written word.

Those who do not have the Holy Spirit are the ones that misquote the written word as they deviate into false doctrines, occult practices, magic and occultism. In the same way that Satan misquoted and twisted the word of God while tempting Jesus, he still employs the same tactic. He twists and perverts the scriptures and gets men to misquote and misinterpret the word of God while engaging in the most heinous crimes.

Idolatry is the abomination of abominations because it works hand in hand with murder. The murder is done spiritually without any physical trace or evidence and the practitioners look innocent on the outside but are worse than the worst physical murderers. It’s foundation is human blood and flesh. A lot of false Christians are practicing idolatry while quoting the word of God. Those who have the Holy Spirit are the ones that worship Him in Spirit and in truth – they reject falsehood, magic and demon worship because they know the Holy Spirit and the truth. They do not use human sense or reasoning to interpret the written word.

For this reason we have always prayed for you, ever since we heard about you. We ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will, with all the wisdom and understanding that his Spirit gives. Colossians 1:9

Without a personal knowledge and experience of God through His wisdom, we will not be successful Christians and we will find it difficult getting to the mountaintop of His glory.

And went back to his hometown. He taught in the synagogue, and those who heard him were amazed. “Where did he get such wisdom?” they asked. “And what about his miracles? Mathew 13:54

On the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue. Many people were there; and when they heard him, they were all amazed. “Where did he get all this?” they asked. “What wisdom is this that has been given him? How does he perform miracles? Mark 6:2

May we all keep praying for wisdom. Wisdom is known by its fruits. You will know that you have wisdom when you are filled with the fruits of the Holy Spirit and the manifest presence of God. Wisdom is measured by result. It is the highest form of emotional intelligence but it is even higher than emotional intelligence. It is intelligence in every aspect of life and existence.

Intelligence is not measured by wealth, physical blessings and academic excellence. I have personally come across some people that are extremely intelligent but without academic excellence and I have also come across some people with academic excellence and brilliance but without emotional intelligence and other forms of intelligence. All they have is book intelligence. Some people have been deceived into believing that the most physically blessed, educated and prosperous pastors have the most wisdom and intelligence. By doing that, they look down on the principles of God and are walking on worldly wisdom.

The pastors they listen to end up teaching them worldly wisdom and they wonder why they can not be like the apostles of old. If the apostles of old were worldly minded and silly like some of today’s Christians, they would have judged Jesus by mere physical and worldly standard. They would have assessed His level of material wealth, blessings and educational excellence and refused to listen to Him. Some Christians of today will not listen to you if you do not have wife or children. Thank God those apostles of old were not like today’s Christians. Jesus was a carpenter without the highest physical educational qualification, money and physical blessings.

Paul had very high physical, educational qualifications but he was not wealthy or swimming in physical blessing. He did not even have wife or children. Jesus and Paul had one thing that differentiated them – the Holy Spirit and super wisdom and spiritual intelligence. They were taught and educated spiritually by the Holy Spirit. Spiritual education transcends and controls the physical world with all its forms of wisdom and education. Spiritual eduction is targeted towards life preservation, enhancement and love. This is not the type of intelligence that comes from going to the best schools. It is the type that comes from God and God can give it to the most educated and the most uneducated.

Emotional intelligence is shown in all the fruits of the Holy Spirit but when you have mastered the art of praying down the glory of God in addition to the fruits of the Holy Spirit, that is a higher form of intelligence and existence but it must be built on the foundation of emotional intelligence and the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

A man who claims to have power or the manifestations of the Holy Spirit without a healed character and the fruits of the Holy Spirit in abundance is a liar. He is not manifesting the Holy Spirit but demonic power. I believe that those people that Jesus told, “go away from me, I do not know you” were manifesting demonic power using the name of Jesus like what is happening today.

They were not true believers but pretenders. They had “faith” without corresponding actions – they had false faith. They were not doing the will of God and were not filled with the fruits of the Holy Spirit. They acquired power but not God’s power. Some might even have been deceived into thinking that they were manifesting the power of God but they were not godly, faithful or walking in the word of God and wisdom.

Jesus and Paul were men of wisdom and we can see the external manifestations of that wisdom through the fruits of the Holy Spirit and manifest presence of God upon their lives.

When the Son of Man came, he ate and drank, and everyone said, ‘Look at this man! He is a glutton and wine drinker, a friend of tax collectors and other outcasts!’ God’s wisdom, however, is shown to be true by its results.” Matthew 11:19

Jesus said that people quote a proverb “physician heal yourself.” A wise person who goes around preaching and teaching will have a healed character which is the greatest evidence of wisdom. A wiser person will have a healed character and the manifest presence of God because He also knows how to pray for the manifestation of the Holy Spirit – that also requires wisdom.

An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Titus 1:6

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach (1 Timothy 3:2 NKJV) 1 Timothy 3:2

May God help us never to look down on wisdom or presume that we have it even when we have no results to show for it. May we be humble like little children and constantly pray for wisdom. May we also not doubt but ask in faith because if there is one thing that God can never deny us, and is ardently craving to give us in limitless measure, it is wisdom.

May great grace be upon us in Jesus name.

  • Echoing Puzzles of the Soul,

    In His Love,

This section of Corinthians seems so appropriate, to His Wisdom in contrast to worlds.

May I become a fool to this worlds!

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

    Let no man deceive himself.

If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.

For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Therefore let no man glory in men.

For all things are yours; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:11-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬
