Claiming To Be Wise

For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things (Romans 1:21 – 1:23 ESV)

Only God can give wisdom and intelligence and it is wisdom to recognize this. Pride is what has caused man’s failure.

Man claims to be wise but when it comes to spirituality and God, they become foolish. Anytime man begins to get puffed up with pride to imagine that he is wiser and more intelligent than God, man gets more foolish.

Because man has refused to honor God and thank God, God has allowed man to wallow in the darkness of stupidity, lies and error.Only God can give wisdom and intelligence and it is wisdom to recognize this. Pride is what has caused man’s failure.

The same man that has claimed to be so wise ends up kneeling down to statues and images made to look like man and animals. This has nothing to do with academic excellence or social excellence. Peter was a fisherman but God blessed Him with the Holy Spirit and spiritual wisdom. People in the highest echelons of society are the biggest culprits in this foolishness of looking down on God.

They are the ones who teach their followers how to worship idols, practice witchcraft, belong to the occult and go around naked. People who call themselves celebrities dance around naked and ignorant people worship and adore them. How depraved and low can man go?

If you doubt me go to shrines and Catholic Churches and you will see grown up men and women kneeling down to statues and kissing them. Even the Pope does it. This shows that wisdom comes only from God and anyone who is not humble before God can be a victim to this foolishness.

The Bible says, claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.” Idol worship and rejecting the true God is foolishness and only God can save us from this foolishness. It is not by power or might but by the grace of God and we must pray to God to open blind eyes.

May God’s grace grant wisdom to those in darkness so that they will reject foolishness and error and embrace God and truth. May God also increase the light and truth in us and transform us from glory to glory until we behold His glory and are changed into His likeness.

  • I have many friends that are RC, I find them so indoctrinated it will take the power of the Holy Spirit to give them sight. They are amazing people, my friends, they care for the homeless and migrants, pray and tell me they Love Jesus. I will continue to love them and speak to them of Grace and Jesus’ Love for them.

CNN is doing a special on the pope. Should be interesting!

Revelation 13:11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon.

You are doing the right thing because we are saved by grace and the light we have was given to us as grace. We must pray for our Catholic relatives and friends and also preach the word to them if we truly love them. We must continue to love them and everyone else regardless of their faith. That CNN special on the Pope will be very interesting indeed! Blessings 🙏❤️❤️❤️

Your comment reminds of when I was in boarding School and all these young kids used to quote scriptures from Revelations about how all Catholics will go to Hell. It did not make for a very nice school experience, we Catholic kids were judged and ridiculed, and the non-Christian kids used to watch the infighting with awe. They were being treated better than we were… by “fellow” Christian kids.
I have grown from that experience and I know it comes from a misguided albeit genuine place. So I thank you for your kind prayers and I pray for wisdom for myself, all Catholics and every Christian who judges their fellow brethren unknowingly.
      God bless you!

Thanks you so much for this very informative contribution. As someone who grew up as a Catholic kid, I am familiar with the treatment you described. There is one memory of a Pentecostal girl I came across that is firmly etched in my memory. She was so aggressive and unpleasant to me as she pointed out what was wrong with my Catholic faith. Her attitude and manner did not register or make any positive impact on me but I guess she was “ misguided, albeit genuine.”

God Himself was the one who started giving me revelation’s about the errors in the Catholic Church and He instructed me not to proceed further with going into the convent. The other girls that started with me are all Reverend Sisters but I never told them my reason for pulling back.

It is by grace that we stand and it is God that gives light and truth. Anyone who thinks He is standing should be very careful not to be proud because he can fall. We are called to correct and preach with love not judge and condemn.

The Lord told me that He loves Catholics very much and wants them to renounce idol worship. He has commanded me to expose the errors in the Catholic Church and it all comes from the place of love.

I pray that all who profess Christ be delivered from every error to the glory and worship of God. 🙏❤️❤️❤️

  • The Eclectic Contrarian

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.” Proverbs‬ ‭4:7-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Two things come to mind about your post, arrogance/pride and humbleness. The Lord showed me a while back about how man’s intelligence is his own stupidity. And there is a great difference why God chooses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. Why? Because God will not allow His truth in the hands of arrogance. Rather the lowliest people may lack many things, they know what precious gifts God gives them.

It’s symbolic of people who come from poor backgrounds but value everything they have and those who waste their gifts because they can have anything they want.

Plus, arrogance is so sure of itself that it will not accept truth. Even if it’s proven.

“Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Thank you so much for this amazing and wise contribution. I love the way you said it, “man’s intelligence is his own stupidity.” The grace of God is so amazing for showing man hidden things. I love the explanation of that Scripture:

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 1 Corinthians 1:27

It has thrown so much light into the meaning of that Scripture. God will not allow His truth in the hands of arrogance. The lowly and humble are trusted by God. Jesus said He was humble and meek in Spirit and the Bible said that Moses was the meekness man of His time. No wonder God did amazing things with them.

Arrogance will not accept truth even if it’s proven because it is so sure of itself. This saying is so deep and filled with wisdom.

May God’s grace always be with us and keep us humble. Grace and blessings to you always 🙏❤️❤️❤️😊

  • I feel that this post is worth reading by all. It she’s so light on the darkness of the society in which we live in. I witness ignorance all around me, holding dear unto things off this world and not holding tight enough to the “what” that sustains all life on our planet. We choose to complicate life with enumerous distractions taking ourselves away from the true reality that can only be realized through the stillness of our mind’s and a humble peaceful heart. All the separation we’ve created in today’s society keeps us divided from one another and also divided internally. I see life as energy manifesting itself in many forms, the one true energy in existence is Love. Love is what we feel as the sun shines down upon us holding us in it’s arms warning flesh and soul. Love is what we experience from the moon illuminating the darkest of nights. Love again is experienced in the selflessness of water giving fully of it’s self to totally become apart of us. Every error of society and humanity is rooted in it’s opposite, fear. Fear is the source of all delusion. The scripture says we were not given the spirit of fear. Therefore that fear that we feel inside is our ignorance to the wisdom and knowledge that there is only Love. Thank you for sharing such an amazing post. I love reading your work and I know that you are making a huge difference in our human experience by sharing your soul through your writing. Love, Peace, and Harmony unto you friend sister!

Thank you so much for this very enlightening and informative contribution to this subject. Your comment is very deep and wise and so many people will gain from it. You poetically and beautifully said, “Love is what we feel as the sun shines down upon us holding us in it’s arms warning flesh and soul. Love is what we experience from the moon illuminating the darkest of nights. Love again is experienced in the selflessness of water giving fully of it’s self to totally become apart of us.”

This love is all around us in creation and nature but we fail to understand love and the source of love. Humanity has indeed chosen fear, darkness and lies to her own peril. The fear we feel is certainly ignorance at its peak.

I pray that God’s grace keeps filling us with more and more light and truth until we are filled with love and faith and are transformed into the image and likeness of Christ. Grace and blessings to you always 🙏❤️❤️❤️

  • Sorry autocorrect keeps changing my words 😊

  • Excellent post, all wisdom comes from God and nowhere else. It is imparted within our Soul to share diligently with others to help all those who seek goodness to keep faith, hope and strength. Keep pointing them to God all the time to learn the truth themselves. Idolatry is growing in many forms through the herding of the masses, they are led by destructive forces. Bless you Laura for your work.

    • laurabon

Thank you so much for the inspiring and encouraging words. Idolatry is certainly tearing the world in pieces and leading many away from God into futility and nothingness. I pray that God will pour more and more grace on humanity so that many people will reject error and darkness for truth, love and life. 🙏❤️❤️❤️

  • AMEEN!!!! NICE POST…GOD BLESS!!
