What God did for you yesterday is a testimony, but you cannot live off yesterday’s anointing today.
The battles you face today
require fresh strength, fresh revelation, fresh fire. Spiritual warfare is real and relentless. The enemy does not sleep. Demonic powers do not rest. But many believers try to war against fresh attacks with stale oil — and wonder why they keep losing ground.
Lamentations chapter three verses twenty-two and twenty-three says, Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. Just as His mercy is new every morning, your anointing must be renewed every morning. Fresh battles demand fresh oil.
Stale oil attracts flies. When your spirit is dry and empty of God’s presence, it becomes the enemy’s playground.
You cannot confront today’s temptations, today’s distractions, today’s warfare, with a prayer life you had five years ago. You need a fresh encounter. A fresh overflow. You need fresh encounter and revelations from the Holy Spirit.
Acts chapter four verse thirty-one says, And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
These were the same disciples who were filled in the upper room — yet they prayed again and were filled again. Why? Because fresh opposition demanded a fresh infilling.
This is why your secret place is not optional. This is why you must remain a worshipper, an intercessor, a Word-lover. Prayerlessness drains your spirit. Distraction dries up your oil.
Staying full of the Holy Spirit’s presence is a choice you make daily.
Most believers do not understand the secret about renewing God’s presence. God presence needs to be renewed every six to eight hours.
The enemy fears a believer who knows how to draw new strength from the well of the Spirit.
Do not settle for old encounters. Cry out for fresh fire. Seek God’s face until fresh anointing comes upon you and fills you to overflowing measure.
Ask God for new wine, new strength, new light. Break out of spiritual complacency.
May the Lord pour fresh anointing on your head daily. May your heart remain thirsty for His presence. May you never run dry.
May today’s anointing be greater than yesterday’s. May the fresh anointing of God’s presence destroy every yoke and silence every enemy, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.
