Midnight Prayer

Prayer is a what brings down the glory of God.

The only way that we can please God is by constantly remaining in His presence as we flee all appearances of sin. The Glory of God must cost us in terms of dedication, time and effort. Jesus our ultimate example spent long periods of time waiting upon the Lord and seeking His face. He would often go to lonely places and pray. Sometimes He prayed from night till morning.

Christianity is not for people who are not willing to pay the price. The only way we can become vessels of honor is by prayer, faith and holiness. When we come into God’s presence, we must believe in our redemption and be willing to obey the word of God and the voice of the Holy Spirit.

You will find me when you seek me with all your heart. – Jeremiah 29:13
Ask and you shall receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. – Matthew 7:7
But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.
– Acts 16:25-26

Midnight prayer is often overlooked by Christians but it is very vital and indispensable. When Paul and Silas were trapped in prison, they got up and sang praises to God. They did not get up to meditate on their predicament. They forget their environment and focused on God’s Love and power and the Holy Ghost manifested Himself. The glory of God was so tangible in that place that the place shook. They were solutions driven and not backward looking. It won’t help us if we begin to meditate on how we got into any spiritual prison we find ourselves in. We must learn how to forget our past and negative circumstances and get up at midnight and praise God with reckless abandon. Our consistency and fortitude will be rewarded because He promised to answer us.
