Love Covers Sins

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4_8 ESV).png

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8 ESV)

We have not yet realized the power and reality of love. Faith started our Christian journey but love finishes, perfects and refines our journey. Love expresses and completes what faith started. If we say that we have faith and refuse to love others, we are simply unserious jokers. Love partners with faith to make us beautiful before God.

We are instructed in this Scripture, to love one another earnestly. This should be our quest as Christians.

We truly do not understand love! Especially God’s love for us! Great post! Thank you for sharing this!

Yes, we truly do not understand love, especially God’s love for us. Thanks for the insightful contribution. Blessings 🙏❤️

  • Love is a very complex and dynamic subject. There are different ways and expressions of love. Sometimes, we can only love people from a safe distance because the situation is toxic. That doesn’t mean that we don’t love people just because we refuse to be enmeshed in their dysfunction. I’ve learned the hard way from loving multiple alcoholics and addicts in my life and God told me, “You can’t save them, only I can.” So I have to step away and let God heal people with His love. Whether the individual accepts God’s love or not is another issue altogether.

Thanks a lot for the very informative contribution. Love is certainly very complex and we need to be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves. Loving others does not mean that we must be close to them or intimate with them. We should love the way that Jesus loved – with wisdom.

God also warned me about being intimate with people who can potentially cause me a lot of harm and damage. I think we should minister to people and let God be God. You are right – Only God can save. Blessings 🙏❤️

    • Hi friend. So true. Love can’t be blind. Loving someone is costly, could be painful experience. Please do continue in love. Thanks for sharing your valuable experience. God bless you.

  • Wonderful reminder. God is love. Love is action. Love is not passive but active.

  • Very powerful reminder. Its hard to separate faith from love.

I pray that for everyone whose been hurt they can find faith in Him to begin loving again. For even the journey to healing from hurt is a faith-love one.
    Nice Laura. Thank you.

You are so correct – the journey to healing from hurt is a faith-love one. Faith precedes love. To be faithful means to be faithful in the love we profess to others and to God. So, loving someone goes hand in hand with faithfulness. Faithfulness includes being loyal in love and making sure we do not hurt, disappoint or betray those we love. Thank you so much for the insightful contribution. Blessings 🙏❤️

    Amen!! Amen!! 🙂 ((Hugs))

  • thanks, this verse comes to my mind, daily. will be doing a blog on it, too.

  • That’s right, because God first loved us and He still does because of His eternal love! Love is the GREATEST one of them all amongst faith, hope etc, if we don’t love we are NOTHING!
    Blessings and peace!
