Unforgiveness Hinders Prayers
Hello, welcome to another message. So today I’m going to be sharing from Mark 11:25, and the title of this message is Unforgiveness Hinders Prayers.
“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.”
Forgiveness Is a Command
So it is very self-explicit. That’s what the scripture is telling you. If you have anything against anyone, forgive that person because the Lord Himself forgave you. He forgave your sins when He died on the cross. So there is no reason for you to say you’re not going to forgive someone. Forgive everyone that has caused you harm. That’s just the truth. That’s what the Bible is saying here.
If you’re praying and you’re holding grudges and unforgiveness in you, it’s going to form a barrier. I’m sure you don’t want your prayers hindered. In fact, a lot of people are struggling with that. Their prayers are being hindered because they don’t want to forgive.
What Unforgiveness Does
Unforgiveness means that you go and seek revenge. You seek revenge, and then you hate that person. Anytime you remember that person, you’re constantly hateful toward them. You don’t want to see or hear anything about that person because you hate them.
But the truth is there is no need for you to hate anyone. You can cut off from someone without hating that person. God is not saying you should tolerate abuse, so don’t mix things up. Jesus Himself said you should fight for your rights and pray for justice.
If someone is abusing you, causing a lot of harm, and the person is unrepentant and a persistent aggressor, all you need to do is go to God in prayer and leave it at the feet of Christ. Leave it for God. But it does not mean that you should take the battle into your own hands and begin to become militant against that person.
Once you begin to wish someone evil, once you become bitter toward someone, if you would do something harmful to that person if given the chance, then that is not right in the eyes of God. That’s going to hinder your prayers. That’s going to form an obstacle to your prayers.
Leave Vengeance to God
The Bible says forgive. Paul also said do not take revenge. Forgive, but leave vengeance to God. So just leave vengeance to God. God is a just God. God is going to reward everyone according to the works of their hands.
No matter what someone has done to you, don’t dwell on it. It is possible for you to let it go. Do not allow that thing to traumatize you. Give it to Christ. Cast all your burdens upon Him because He cares for you.
God is a very strong and powerful God. He knows how to avenge. The Bible says vengeance belongs to Him. So do not become bitter. Do not let evil cling to you. Leave that to God. God knows how to deal with evil people.
Look at Pharaoh. God dealt with Pharaoh. Look at Judas. Judas betrayed Christ, but Jesus still forgave him. Even while hanging on the cross, Jesus said:
“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
That is how you should pray. Keep forgiving. Keep asking God to forgive people. But God will not be mocked. Even as you forgive, keep your hands clean.
Keep Your Hands Clean
Jesus said:
“The enemy is coming, but he has nothing in Me.”
Make sure the devil has nothing in you. Even while Jesus was hanging on the cross, He forgave the people who crucified Him. That is what it means to keep your hands clean.
Do not go around wishing people evil or constantly talking about those who hurt you. The more you keep talking about it, the more traumatized you become. Be quiet. Be silent. Give that burden to God because He cares for you. Surrender everything at the feet of Christ and think holy thoughts.
The Bible says whatever is pure, holy, lovely, of good report, excellent, and praiseworthy—think on those things. So if you’re constantly thinking about what someone did to you, is there anything pure or lovely about that? That’s how you give the devil an upper hand in your life.
That’s how you stop the Holy Spirit from manifesting through you. That’s how you hinder the fruits of the Spirit. So think good thoughts all the time. Make sure your mind is pure. Make sure your hands are clean.
Cry Out to God for Justice
The Bible also says we should pray to God for justice. Jesus used the persistent widow as an example. She was denied her rights. God does not want anyone to abuse or oppress you. That widow cried out to God day and night.
Learn how to cry out to God instead of constantly complaining to people about your problems. Some people do not care. Some even mock others behind their backs. So be careful.
The widow had no one, but she cried out to God. Jesus said God is the judge. He hears those who cry out to Him day and night. Praying for justice is an example of faith.
Instead of walking around bitter, resentful, and hateful, keep your hands clean. Once you begin wishing evil on someone, your hands are no longer clean spiritually. Your spirit can begin to fight that person, and that is not good.
Wisdom is this: cry out to God for justice. If something requires legal action, go to court. But do not break spiritual laws by wishing evil on people. Do not break the law of love and forgiveness.
God is the judge. Justice and righteousness are the foundations of His throne. Those who think God will never execute justice are deceiving themselves.
Do Not Be an Unforgiving Servant
So always keep your hands clean. Never allow bitterness and unforgiveness to dwell in your heart because unforgiveness defiles you. Keep away from it. Keep away from bitterness. Keep away from living in anger.
Be joyful. Thank God. Praise Him. Rejoice in Him. Walk in holiness.
Make sure you do not have unforgiveness in your heart because unforgiveness hinders prayers. Jesus already said it clearly. Be conscious of this word always.
If you walk in bitterness, vengeance, and unforgiveness, you are defeating yourself. Maybe you already have battles in life, but when you add wickedness to it, you make things worse. God sees unforgiveness as wickedness.
Remember the parable of the unforgiving servant. The servant was forgiven a great debt, yet he refused to forgive someone else. When the king heard about it, he called him a wicked servant.
So you can be a child of God and still manifest wickedness through unforgiveness. Don’t be a wicked servant. Don’t be a wicked child.
If you want to be victorious, mature, and close to God, keep away from unforgiveness. There is nothing good about it. It only destroys the person carrying it.
Forgive. Keep away from bitterness. Watch the Lord fight your battles for you.
Prayer
May the Lord Himself be upon you and help you in your daily walk with Him. May He constantly purify you, sanctify you, and give you the grace to forget the hurts of the past. May the Lord sanctify your tongue completely.
May the Lord Jesus Christ lead you every day in victory. May He fill you with truth. May He clothe you with garments of praise, righteousness, truth, light, and humility.
May the Lord Himself fight for you. May He defeat all your enemies. May the hand of God come upon you. May the fire of God cleanse you completely.
May He make you whole and heal you of every affliction. Whatever illness is upon you today, I curse that illness in the mighty name of Jesus.
May the favor of God open doors for you. May God make you complete through the blood of Jesus Christ. May the Lord be like a wall of fire around you to protect you.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so may the Lord surround you. May the angel of the Lord encamp around you and deliver you. May He give you great deliverance.
May the Lord bless you with wisdom, provision, favor, and new ideas. May He be your guide and your shepherd. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

One wrong relationship can weaken your prayer life, cloud your judgment, and slowly move you outside God’s perfect will.
Protect your fellowship with God. Protect yourself by making sure you are not unequally yoked with idol worshippers and God haters.
Choose relationships that strengthen your faith, sharpen your discernment, and draw you closer to Jesus Christ.

Carry the Fire of God!
The gates of hell will not prevail against you.
This is God’s will for you.
Pray! Pray fervently with persistence and faith.
Wait upon the Lord to carry God’s fire.
Demons will flee in terror. No demon or witch can withstand the presence, glory, power, fire, or blood of God.
Pay the price to continually put on the fire of God through persistent prayer.
Revelation 3:18 says,
“I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.”
Embrace spiritual discipline. To buy is to trade your spiritual laziness and worldly distractions for the spiritual discipline of constantly waiting upon the Lord to seek His face and power.
You will seek God and find Him when you seek Him with all your heart.
God promised that you will find Him. You will experience His visitation, mercy, and fire.
He said,
Jeremiah 29:12–14 NKJV
“Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity.”
God wants you to experience the fullness of life.
He wants you to carry His presence and fire in the highest degree and dimension here on earth.
He wants you to be a king and prince on earth. When you manifest as a son of God, carrying His fire and power, you will do exploits for Him. The gates of hell will not prevail against you. Rather, you will prevail against the gates of hell and be a terror to demons and the kingdom of darkness.
Demons screamed in terror and ran away from Jesus because Jesus was filled and surrounded by the presence, fire, and power of God.
Stop playing. Take your rightful place today. Carry God’s fire and power, and rule over demons and witches.
May God Himself teach your hands to fight and make war, in Jesus name, amen.

DO THEY LOVE YOU—OR DO THEY JUST NEED YOU?
Does someone truly love you if they are with you because they depend on you and need you?
Or do they simply love what you provide?
Those are two very different questions.
How do you know when someone truly loves you—and when you are simply needed, useful, or convenient?
The answer is deeper than most people think.
Love chooses. Dependency needs.
Love values the person. Dependency values the benefit.
Biblical love seeks the good of the other person.
Jesus loved people who could give Him nothing.
Loyalty reveals genuine love.
Mutual dependence is healthy. Codependence is not.
