Hindered Prayers

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. (1 Peter 3:7 ESV)
Lack of compassion and understanding can hinder our prayers. This Scripture is talking about men showing honor to their wives as weaker vessels by being understanding towards their wives. There is a principle at work here and that is the principle of love, kindness and understanding. If this can hinder a husband’s prayer, it means that it can also hinder the prayers of other people who do not treat others with love, compassion and understanding.
This means that we should remember that our prayers can be hindered and if that is the case, we must live in such a way that we do not defeat our own prayers. Kindness and love will help our prayers while wickedness and evil will defeat our prayers.
May this wisdom dwell in us and keep us from living careless lives that attract judgement on us and hinder our prayers.

It’s probably the hardest thing to do… loving those who aren’t “loveable”… Certainly something I need more help with. But these people are the way they are because of a lack of true love.
Yes, loving the unlovable is not easy. True believers realize this and are sincerely asking for more help with this and God will supply more grace for us to love everyone the way He does. Thanks for the meaningful contribution. Blessings 🙏❤️❤️❤️
Your post goes along with what Yeshua (Jesus) said in Matthew 6:14, which is the (oft ignored) verse right after “the Lord’s prayer.” “For if you forgive other their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14 (ESV)
I have seen many people, both young and old, ruin their lives by holding on to grudges against others. But God makes it clear: forgive others. If one finds that one can’t forgive another, start by asking God to help forgive. He will hear that prayer.
Your post is a good reminder.

Thank you so much for the very insightful contribution. It is so true – if we do not forgive others, we will not be forgiven. That is the word of God and an irreversible spiritual principle. If we want our prayers answered we just have to make peace with others like Jesus advised in Matthew 5:23 , forgive others and treat others with kindness.
Your advise is very helpful,” If one finds that one can’t forgive another, start by asking God to help forgive. He will hear that prayer.” With God all things are possible. 🙏❤️❤️❤️
Amen!
