He Listens

We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him. (John 9:31 ESV)

God listens to prayers and hears them but it is conditional. Anyone who decides to love evil and harm others should not expect mercy from God – He will not be fooled or mocked. Mercy triumphs over judgement but judgement without mercy will be given to the haters of God and man. We are free but we are not free to hurt and harm others. Hurting others is detestable and despicable in the eyes of God.

If we desire good, let us be good. Anyone who desires evil, death and judgement should keep on hating, harming and terrorizing others but there is a day of reckoning. There is a day of accountability and Christians are not exempt.

A Christian will be saved and go to heaven but he will experience chastening and judgement on earth if he goes astray. Let all who call the name of the Lord depart from evil. Judgement begins in the house of God, so we should not remain in sin just because God is merciful. Any believer with that kind of mentality does not fully know, love or respect his Heavenly Father.

For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives. ” It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? (Hebrews 12:6 – 12:7 ESV)

If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it (Hebrews 12:8- 12:11 ESV)

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. (Revelation 3:19 ESV)

You are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord. (1 Corinthians 5:5 ESV)

I believe that the Scriptures above will convince us to stop being nonchalant about sin. May great grace be upon us in Jesus name.
