Free Indeed, But …

Free,
Free in Christ
Free to do good
But not free
To do evil.
We are free,
Free to follow the will of God,
Free to live above sin,
Free to be led
By the Holy Spirit’s voice and direction.
Yes,
We are free indeed,
But not free
To revel, swim and wallow in the
Miry clay of evil and sin.

Charles Stanley has said something like this, in a sermon and a devotional, twice this week. It’s an interesting, ethical take on Free Will. When he said it in the sermon, my head snapped around like a bullet. 🙂 Free in the sense of being loved, and free in the sense of being overseen by the Good Shepherd. I’m also mulling over a take on Free Will versus Determinism for one of my sites, but haven’t gotten around to it yet…. Anyway, interesting work, as usual!
Thank you so much for the lovely contribution to this topic. Such a wonderful coincidence that Charles Stanley also said something like that in a sermon and devotional twice this week. We are definitely free in the sense of being over seen by the Good Shepherd. Our God is awesome and He provides great grace. Blessings and peace to you always🙏
Amen!
