Be A Pleaser Of God, Not Man
Pleaser of God Not Men – Get Rid of The Delilah’s In Your Life.
Hello, welcome to another message titled “Be A Pleaser Of God, Not Man.”
Get rid of the Delilahs in your life.
Galatians 1:10 says:
“For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.”
One of the enemy’s greatest deceptions is making people idolize human beings. Many people begin to attribute qualities and powers to humans that belong only to God. They fear men more than they fear God, and this becomes a dangerous trap.
Proverbs 29:25 says:
“Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.”
The three Hebrew men chose to fear God rather than man, and God proved Himself faithful by delivering them from the fiery furnace. That is what happens when you refuse to idolize people and choose obedience to God instead.
Many people constantly seek to please others even when it grieves the Holy Spirit. This is why Jesus said that He must be our first love. God wants your heart completely. When you truly love God first, He gives you the grace to love others rightly.
Love comes from God. But when love is misdirected, it becomes idolatry and leads people away from God.
Matthew 10:37 says:
“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. Anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.”
Any relationship that constantly pulls you into disobedience against God is a snare. No human being should ever take the place of God in your life.
Acts 5:29 says:
“We must obey God rather than men.”
Many people desire fame, applause, and human approval. Some seek celebrity status because they want to be worshipped and admired. In that pursuit, many fall into darkness, deception, and spiritual bondage.
The Bible says in John 12:43:
“For they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.”
Some people value the approval of family members, spouses, friends, or society more than the approval of God. But every believer will eventually face moments where they must choose between pleasing people and pleasing God.
Never reject God in order to satisfy man.
As you grow spiritually, God begins to reveal hidden idols in the heart. Human idols can exist silently in the heart without you realizing it. You may think you love God most, but your actions may reveal otherwise.
Sometimes the Lord exposes these hidden idols through situations and tests.
Anything you love more than God becomes an idol.
1 Corinthians 8:4 says:
“We know that an idol stands for something that does not really exist. We know that there is only one God.”
1 John 5:21 says:
“Little children, guard yourselves from idols.”
An idol is a deception. It is assigning God’s position to something or someone else. It may be money, fame, relationships, celebrities, physical objects, or even emotional attachments.
Power belongs to God alone.
Jesus Christ is highly exalted above all things. He alone deserves worship. He alone saves. He alone delivers.
Many people are spiritually trapped because they opened doors through deception, emotional bondage, sinful relationships, lust, and unhealthy attachments.
The enemy uses fake love, emotional obsession, lust, and unhealthy soul ties to draw people away from God.
Samson allowed Delilah to become an idol in his heart. His passion for her blinded him spiritually and eventually destroyed his destiny.
Many people today also carry spiritual Delilahs in their hearts. Some are emotionally attached to people they are not married to. Some are consumed by unhealthy passion and emotional dependence.
Even without physical immorality, emotional and spiritual bonds can become dangerous strongholds.
Guard your heart carefully.
Do not allow anyone to occupy the place that belongs to God alone.
The Holy Spirit should fill your heart, not human idols.
Jesus said:
“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Truth destroys deception. The Word of God exposes lies. The Holy Spirit leads believers into truth.
Choose God above every relationship, every idol, every emotion, and every worldly desire.
Let Christ become your first love.
Remove every Delilah from your life. Remove every idol from your heart. Remove every attachment that weakens your walk with God.
Choose holiness. Choose obedience. Choose truth. Choose the approval of God over the approval of men.
May the Lord give you discernment to recognize every false love and every hidden idol. May your heart become fully surrendered to Jesus Christ. May the Holy Spirit fill you with wisdom, holiness, and truth.
May the Lord strengthen you to walk in obedience and purity. May He decorate your life with His glory and preserve you from deception.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Remain blessed. Have a good day.
