Praying From the Heart
Heart Cry is all about praying from your heart. God has been teaching me how to pray from the heart, and ever since I started doing this, I realized that this is the miracle many people need. This is what we need to do in order to guarantee that our prayers are answered.
We need to learn how to cry out to God from our hearts.
Remember Hannah in the Bible. She prayed from her heart. Her lips were moving, but no sound was heard. Her heart was involved in the prayer. As believers, we are spirit beings, and because we are spirits, we need to have a one-on-one relationship with God — spirit to Spirit.
That is what God desires.
Spirit-to-Spirit Prayer
The Lord revealed something powerful to me this year. He said that our prayers need to become spiritually loud.
To become spiritually loud means your prayer has moved beyond your mind and entered your heart and spirit. When your spirit begins to pray to God, your cry becomes loud in the spiritual realm.
The Lord also spoke to me about crying for a long time. This means persistent prayer.
So as we cry out from our hearts, we must also remain persistent. When your prayer is both persistent and heartfelt, it becomes a true “heart cry” — a prayer that reaches heaven and moves the hand of God.
We are in a spiritual battle, and our prayers must be spiritual. Everything we do should involve spiritual weapons. To understand how to pray effectively, we must study the patterns of prayer in the Bible.
Pray the way:
- Hannah prayed
- Jesus prayed
- Paul prayed
Jesus often prayed at night. Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises at midnight, and the glory of God came down and delivered them from captivity.
Study these patterns and incorporate them into your prayer life.
The Cry of the Israelites
The Israelites were broken by cruel slavery and bondage, and they cried out to God for help.
Their suffering had entered deep into their spirits. Their cry came from broken hearts, and God heard them. He appeared to Moses and said He had heard their cry. Then God sent deliverance.
This teaches us something important:
Anything you meditate on, experience, or practice consistently eventually enters your spirit.
The Israelites experienced suffering for so long that it entered their spirits. That is what trauma does. This is why we must be careful about:
- What we watch
- What we listen to
- What we meditate on
- What we expose ourselves to repeatedly
What Enters Your Spirit Produces Results
If you praise God consistently, praise enters your spirit.
If you worship God continually, worship enters your spirit.
If you confess scriptures constantly, the Word of God enters your spirit.
There was a time in my twenties when the Lord was teaching me about spiritual warfare. In a dream, I found myself declaring:
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.”
A spirit that came against me recognized the Word of God and left immediately.
Even evil spirits recognize and respect the Word of God.
That is why meditating on scripture and confessing the Word continually is powerful. It plants God’s truth deep into your spirit.
Persistent Prayer
When you are asking God for something, be consistent and persistent.
Like the persistent widow in the Bible who kept crying:
“Give me justice against my adversary.”
Whatever you are praying for:
- Healing
- Marriage
- Finances
- Deliverance
- Restoration
Do not stop praying until you see results.
Many people give up at the edge of their breakthrough. Keep praying until the Lord Himself delivers you.
The more you pray from your heart, the deeper it enters your spirit. Eventually, your spirit continues speaking to God even beyond your conscious awareness.
God wants to answer prayers.
The Bible says:
“Ask, and you shall receive.”
And also:
“You have not because you ask not.”
So ask. Persist. Pray from your heart. Let your prayer become a true heart cry before God.
Prayer
I pray that the Lord Himself gives you the grace to persist and persevere until your prayers are answered.
May the Lord strengthen your spirit, deepen your prayer life, and draw you closer to Him.
May God bless you and keep you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Remain blessed, and have a wonderful day.
