Bold As A Lion

The wicked flee when no one pursues,
but the righteous are bold as a lion.
(Proverbs 28:1 ESV)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV)
Peace and faith are fruits of the Holy Spirit. When the Bible talks of sound mind it is talking about a mind that is not ravaged by fear.
The more we cleanse and purify our hearts by Holiness and meditating on the word of God, the more we attract the mind of Christ.
The mind of Christ is pure. The mind of Christ is the word of God and it is seven times purified. We must make conscious effort not to dwell on our negative circumstances and our problems.
We must replace that habit by meditating on the greatness of God and the littleness of our problems. We must refuse the see giants. Giant is an evil report, negative circumstances and our problems are evil reports.
They are there quite alright but we must choose to see God and His greatness in what He had done on the Cross and what He can do from His throne of grace where we approach with faith to experience mercy in our time of need.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things. (Philippians 4:8 NKJV)
Meditating on evil reports and worldly superstitions will always breed fear. Sin also breeds fear because the Spirit man knows what the head does not know.
The Spirit man of a wicked man knows that all that is left for him is fiery judgement and hell even though the head of the wicked man does not believe in judgement.
Fear is judgment and judgement is fear. Fear has to do with punishment, it is destruction of the mind. With fear, the mind now functions contrary to God’s original design. After Adam sinned, he was afraid and hid from God.
The cure to fear is the word of God and holiness.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16 NKJV)
It is only when the word of God is dwelling richly in us that we will become righteous and bold as a lion.
