The Secret to Good Success
Good Success
Hello, welcome to this message. So, it’s actually snowing outside right now. So we’ll go over to today’s message, which is from Joshua. Today’s message is from Joshua 1:5–10, Joshua chapter 1.
So I’m going to read right now:
“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.”
So this is the New King James Version. And the Good News Version says:
“Joshua, no one will be able to defeat you as long as you live. I’ll be with you as I was with Moses. I will always be with you; I will never abandon you.”
That’s the Good News Translation.
So we can take out some keywords from Joshua chapter 1 verse 5. Now it says, “No one will be able to defeat you as long as you live.” That’s the promise of God for Joshua.
And mind you, God is not a respecter of persons. God does not want your enemies to defeat you if you walk in line with His word. We’re going to read further down and you’ll see everything that He said to Joshua. So if you can use this as an example and apply it to your life, realize that God loves everyone. So if God is saying this to Joshua, He’s also saying it to you.
You can actually apply it to your life if you can walk in line with the word of God, if you can take the advice that He gave to Joshua and walk with that advice. It’s that promise you can also apply to your life: no one will be able to defeat you as long as you live.
That’s what God wants for His children. God wants His children to be warriors. He wants His children to be overcomers. He wants His children to be victorious. But most of the time, we are not faithful enough to walk the way that God actually wants us to walk.
So we continue:
“Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.”
Now we see that God is telling him to be strong and of good courage. We’re still going further down, and you’ll see everything that God commanded him.
So to be strong and of good courage — that’s what God wants. And it takes strength and courage for you to walk in line with the word of God, for you to do what God wants you to do, for you to fulfill your destiny by walking in God’s plan for your life.
Because there was an assignment that He gave to Joshua. So Joshua needed courage. Joshua needed strength. And God is encouraging him: “Be strong and be of good courage.”
And that’s what God is saying to you: be strong and of good courage so that you can fulfill your destiny.
Whatever God has called you to do, whatever it is you know that God has spoken to you and said, “This is what I want you to do,” just do it.
If God wants you to be a gospel singer, do it. Be strong and have good courage. If God wants you to be a doctor, do it. Whatever God wants you to do, do it.
If God wants you to go into business, if He has opened a business opportunity for you, you don’t need to be scared. Be strong and of good courage. Just go ahead and do it, as long as you’ve heard from God.
There are certain things that God has spoken to me about, and I’m also applying that to my life. In fact, I started this year with that mindset. I don’t know — just the grace of God came upon me.
Because there were certain instructions that the Lord gave me concerning ministry which I did not implement last year. But as I was coming into this new year, I just started asking myself: “What are those things that God has told me to do that I haven’t done yet?”
He gave me certain commands. He told me certain things He wants me to do. And they are very big projects — they’re not easy at all. But I made up my mind that I was going to do all that this year, and I already started.
That’s being strong and courageous.
So may God give you the grace to start whatever it is He wants you to do. May God give you the grace to finish. May God give you the grace not to abandon it or get discouraged along the way.
Whatever it is that God wants you to do — even if it’s relocation, marriage, ministry, or business — do not hesitate. Be of good courage. Trust in the Lord and go ahead.
That’s how faith works. Faith is not magic. Faith is not an imaginary thing. You have to walk with God for your faith to work.
Any faith that does not involve walking with God, hearing the voice of God, and walking in line with that voice to activate your destiny, your success, and your victory — that is not faith. That’s just mental confession or psychology.
But you can see the way God was with Moses and Joshua. You see the way they partnered with God and walked with Him. That’s faith.
Even Abraham — when God told him to leave and go somewhere — that was faith. That’s how you walk with God. You need to believe Him and walk with what He has told you to do.
Verse 7 says:
“Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.”
Now we’re talking about the law. God told Joshua that He wanted him to walk according to all the law.
Now, the law we are walking with now is the New Covenant law — the law of Christ.
Walk according to all the law that the Lord your God has commanded. If you go to the New Testament, you’re going to see the commandments there. And there are also some things in the Old Testament that are relevant to the New Covenant because the New Testament fulfills the Old Covenant law.
So walk in line with the law Christ has given us, the teachings the apostles left behind in the word of God.
If you want to have victory, that’s what you’re supposed to do.
“Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left.”
That is how you should walk. Your eyes should be glued to the word of God.
Do not replace the law of God with the law of man and think that it is the law of Christ.
The word of God has promises, and it also has commandments.
If you want to prosper wherever you go, do not depart from the word of God. Know the word of God thoroughly. Know the commandments of God thoroughly. Know the promises of God thoroughly, and walk in line with them.
That is when you will prosper wherever you go.
The Bible says:
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night…”
Meditate on the word of God day and night. Hide the word of God in your heart.
The Psalmist said:
“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I may not sin against You.”
You need to know the truth so that you can walk in righteousness.
Then God says:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
That’s the promise.
The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go if you walk with Him.
His presence will accompany you. His presence will protect you. His presence will fight your battles for you.
So in conclusion, it’s how you walk with God that matters.
If you walk rightly with God, you will enjoy the promises of God. God will make your way prosperous, and He will give you good success.
Who doesn’t want good success?
God is promising victory instead of failure.
So if you want to reverse failure, rejection, delay, and defeat in your life, walk with God.
Hear from the Holy Spirit. Fellowship constantly with Christ. Put on the full armor of God. Stay filled with the Holy Spirit.
That is the way you will have good success.
So I’m going to pray for you now.
I pray that you constantly meditate upon the word of God. I pray that the Lord Himself will enable you to understand His word. I pray that the Lord gives you the wisdom to apply the word of God correctly and walk in it.
May the Lord clothe you with His presence. May the grace of God be upon you. May the favor of God be upon you.
I decree favor upon your life. I decree prosperity upon your life.
I cut off every evil mark in your life. I cleanse you with the blood of Jesus and with the fire of the Holy Spirit.
May the Lord encamp around you and deliver you. May the Lord surround you as the mountains surround Jerusalem. May He be a wall of fire all around you to protect you.
May the Lord heal you of every sickness and disease.
May the Lord wrap Himself around you, saturate you, and fill you up.
May you be clothed with righteousness, light, praise, and humility.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
Have a good day.
