How to Identify and Walk Away From Meaningless Relationships

Hello, welcome to another message. So I’m gonna be sharing a revelation that the Lord gave to me some time ago.

So in this one, the Lord spoke to me and said, “Meaningless relationships drain you.” Then He continued. He said “meaning,” because I was thinking to myself, “Meaning?” you know, just trying to process what He was saying. Then He continued and explained it further to me. He said, “Meaningless relationships are relationships devoid of love.”

Then that was it.

So now I’m gonna take this because several times the Lord has been persistently talking to me about relationships that are not okay, about wrong relationships, about me making sure that I’m not in them. And by relationship, I mean friends, people around you, even people that are in your household, or people that work for you — basically the people that you interact with, the people that you have any form of relationship with.

Of course, the biggest relationships, the closest ones, are the ones between husband and wife, father and children, siblings, and all that. But this applies to every form of relationship.

Now what He’s saying is relationships devoid of love drain you.

So what does that mean?

I mean, this might look self-explanatory, but a lot of people are walking wrongly. A lot of people are in relationships where the people they have relationships with do not love them. Those people might be friends or might even be closer to them than friends, but they do not love them. They have shown them in one way or the other that they hate them. They have shown them in one way or the other that they are capable of harming them physically, psychologically, and spiritually.

Unfortunately, that’s what happens.

That’s why there’s something called domestic violence. That’s why there’s something called abuse. A lot of people are in abusive relationships, and somehow they think they are trapped in those abusive relationships, and they stay there, not knowing that the longer they stay in an abusive relationship, the more they are depleting the life juice in them.

Every human being has a glory. Your spirit contains your life, your life’s blood, and fragrance. Just like Christ Himself — Christ’s Spirit has His life and His fragrance, and it is that Spirit, that life’s fragrance, that actually cleanses us and heals us. That’s the blood of Jesus.

So your own life’s fragrance, your glory, your virtue, your innermost being — that’s also your blood.

So when you are in an abusive relationship, your life blood is going to be depleted. You’re going to be drained. Some people hear “drained of energy” and think it’s just a figure of speech, but you are really being drained inwardly. Your spirit is actually being drained. Your blood is leaving you spiritually. You’re shedding your essence spiritually because you’re in abusive relationships — relationships where people do not love you, where people cause you constant pain and agony.

So that’s it.

What I want to talk to you about today is this: apply this to your life. Get rid of meaningless relationships. Learn how to form relationships that build you up. Learn how to be with people that love you, that promote you, that build you up — not people that talk down on you, gossip about you, envy you, are jealous of you, can cause you harm, steal from you — just evil people. They are not good for you.

So you need to get rid of those kinds of things from your life.

The first point that I’m gonna take now is: never be with people that hate you.

The Lord spoke that to me some years ago. He said to me, “Never be with people that hate you,” because He’s teaching me how to walk. Those things affect you. If you’re not walking in those principles, you’re not going to fulfill your destiny. You’re going to be sick. It’s going to affect you negatively.

So the Lord is giving me those principles so that they will help me, so that I can be a better person, a better version of myself. And it’s a principle that you need to apply.

Even psychology supports this principle. The Lord is Lord over everything. Psychology is a science, and even the medical sciences — everything is under the Lordship of Christ. Christ is the greatest psychologist. That’s why the Bible is the greatest book on earth. Jesus Himself is everything — physician, architect, accountant, author, designer, artist. God is everything.

So do not take a field and think that it is independent of God.

Now this wisdom key is going to help your life and enrich your life.

The Lord spoke to me and said:

“I surrounded Myself with people who loved Me. I had the twelve apostles, and I had My inner circle.”

Now we’re going to take a scripture:

Gospel of Matthew 17:1–3:

“After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There He was transfigured before them; His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.”

So He took Peter, James, and John. Those were His inner circle.

That’s what the Lord spoke to me about. These were people that loved Him. Remember that John is called the disciple whom Jesus loved. There was great love between Jesus and John.

There’s a reason love is the greatest power and force on this earth. There is nothing that beats love.

Love is an aura that protects.

When someone hates you, that person’s spirit will be fighting you. It’s not physical — you won’t see it. Even the person that hates you might not see it. But spiritually, that person’s spirit will be causing you harm.

That’s why the Bible says don’t be angry, and if you’re angry, don’t let that anger go over into the next day. When you’re angry, your spirit can do damage spiritually.

So we need to protect our life energy, our life source. We need to be careful about what we do with our spirit because God has given us a certain level of power.

People that love you are your protection.

You need to be intimate only with people that love you. It’s not everybody that you should bring into your personal space. Anybody that you are intimate with has access to your life.

That’s why the Lord taught me this principle for a long time until I finally understood it.

Before, I used to think it didn’t matter. I could be friends with anyone. But the Lord corrected me.

Sometimes you can know that somebody is not a genuine friend. On the surface they look genuine, but inwardly they are not okay. The Lord taught me that once you know someone is not okay, regardless of how they present themselves, you need wisdom.

Some people are pretenders. Some people are false friends.

That’s why you need discernment.

If you find yourself constantly surrounded by people who do not love you, pray to God to separate you from such people and bring genuine people into your life.

Do not be in close intimate relationships with people who do not wish you well — people who envy you, are jealous of you, or can harm you.

Learn to be with people who love you.

Now this also applies to husband-and-wife relationships and family relationships. If people do not love you and are harming you, hatred is abuse. Hatred can kill.

Pray for them, but separate yourself from abuse.

Look at the case of David and Saul. When Saul hated David, David fled. He did not stay there to die.

Do not stay in a place that will destroy your destiny.

Even Hagar fled from Sarah when the environment became hostile.

If you are in a hostile environment, especially one that harms you psychologically or physically, seek help and pray for separation from that environment.

Another point is this:

The only unclean person around Jesus betrayed Him.

Judas Iscariot was close to Jesus, yet he betrayed Him.

False friends gather information to destroy people. That’s why you must be careful about who has close access to your life.

Recognize the difference between true love and fake love.

Love is from God. Hatred is from the enemy.

God uses people who genuinely love you to bless, strengthen, and protect your life. That’s why healthy relationships matter. That’s why fellowship matters.

The conclusion is this:

Learn how to walk with people who love you.

Meaningless relationships drain you. Relationships devoid of love are dead relationships. The purpose of every relationship is love, and when love is absent and hatred is present, that relationship has already died.

Defeat the enemy with wisdom, the Word of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

I’m gonna pray for you now.

I pray that the Lord Himself gives you the wisdom to always walk with people that love you. I pray that people who do not have love for you do not come around you. May the Lord protect you. May He give you good friends. May He lead you from victory to victory. May the Lord Himself be like a wall of fire around you to protect you. May He guide you and comfort you. I decree victory and favor upon your life. May the grace of God be upon you. May the Lord Himself be your Shepherd. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
