Complete Submission to God’s Word: A Key to Spiritual Growth
Hello, welcome to this message. In today’s message I’m going to share a vision that I received from the Lord a very, very long time ago, when I was still in my 20s and had just newly given my life to Christ.
Prior to that time, I had wanted to be a reverend sister, and many of the young girls I was meant to join that journey with are reverend sisters today. But many things happened.
God gave me a series of revelations that eventually led me away from that path. He made it clear to me that He did not want me to be a reverend sister, but an evangelist.
He said to me:
“I don’t want you to be a reverend sister. I want you to be an evangelist.”
He also later told me that to be a reverend sister means to be a priestess, but that is not the focus of this message. I will share more about that in another video.
This message is about a vision I had shortly after I gave my life to Christ.
At that time, I was a very young believer, freshly born again. I had many heavenly visions and encounters. The Lord would appear to me and speak to me regularly. It felt natural to me then, though I later understood that I was called to be a prophet, an end-time prophet.
The Vision of Heaven and the Throne of God
In this vision, I found myself in heaven, in the Kingdom of God.
The Lord was seated on a throne far away, and there was a large and countless congregation of people gathered before Him. An angel went around the entire atmosphere declaring:
“Bow down and worship the King of kings and the Lord of lords.”
Immediately, everyone fell down and worshipped Him.
The Lord was so far on His throne that I could not see Him clearly, but light surrounded Him. Everyone was worshipping.
But I did not worship.
I was just looking around with scorn, wondering why everyone was behaving that way. I was observing them critically, almost in judgment.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord from the throne. He said:
“Do not despise Me. Do not despise Me. Do not despise Me. Worship Me.”
The Correction from the Lord
When I came out of that trance, I began to reflect. I thought within myself, “I love the Lord, so why would He say I am despising Him?”
The Lord then began to show me that I still carried many wrong doctrines and teachings from my early background, especially from certain religious traditions.
I was still in a process of transformation.
The Lord made me understand that I had to let go of false doctrines completely. This transformation does not happen in one day; it is a gradual process where God removes wrong beliefs from a believer’s heart.
Many teachings I had absorbed were not aligned with the Word of God.
What It Means to Despise the Word of God
The Lord revealed something very important to me:
To despise the Word of God is to despise Him.
Because Jesus is the Word of God.
So whenever a person:
- Rejects the Word of God
- Contradicts the Word of God
- Holds beliefs opposite to Scripture
- Or follows doctrines not rooted in the Bible
That person is resisting the Word of God.
And in doing so, they are despising Christ, even if they claim to love Him.
That was the meaning behind the warning I received.
Turning Fully to the Word of God
From that moment, I surrendered completely to the Word of God.
I began to study Scripture deeply and consistently.
I decided to live like the Berean Christians, who searched the Scriptures daily to confirm truth.
Because when you come from a background filled with mixed teachings and man-made doctrines, you must return to the Bible as your final authority.
Even within evangelical and Pentecostal circles, there are still many teachings that are not fully grounded in Scripture. So discernment is necessary.
The Subtlety of False Doctrine
The devil does not usually appear openly. He is subtle.
He often works through:
- Familiar people
- Trusted voices
- Religious systems
- Cultural practices
- Emotional attachments
This is why believers must be careful.
Even people you respect can unknowingly pass on teachings that are not fully aligned with Scripture.
That is why the Bible calls us to test everything and hold fast to what is true.
The Call to Be Berean Christians
We are called to be like the Bereans:
- Studying the Word of God deeply
- Testing every teaching with Scripture
- Allowing the Holy Spirit to guide understanding
Without a solid knowledge of Scripture, spiritual maturity becomes difficult.
Many believers remain immature because they do not fully submit their understanding to the Word of God.
Warning Against False Practices
In many places today, different practices are introduced into Christianity that are not found in the teachings of Jesus or the apostles.
Some of these include objects or rituals that are treated as spiritual shortcuts.
But anything that replaces simple faith, prayer, and obedience to God’s Word can become a form of idol worship.
God desires relationship, not formulas.
He answers those who seek Him sincerely, not those who manipulate spiritual principles.
Seeking God in Truth
If your heart is truly set on God, then your focus will not be on formulas or shortcuts.
Your focus will be:
- Seeking God
- Loving Him
- Obeying His Word
- Walking in His Spirit
When you do this, God Himself will guide your life.
Like Elijah, God hears those who sincerely seek Him. Sometimes He may delay answers, but He is always faithful.
The Danger of Self-Deception
We must not judge truth by outward results alone.
Sometimes things may appear to be working, but that does not mean they are aligned with God’s will.
True judgment must always come from the Word of God, not circumstances.
Final Exhortation
If you call yourself a Christian, then the Word of God must be your highest authority.
The Holy Spirit leads us through Scripture and confirms truth in our hearts.
Anything that contradicts Scripture must be rejected.
That is how we walk in the Spirit.
That is how we grow in Christ.
That is how we avoid despising the Lord.
Prayer
I pray for you today.
May the Lord open your eyes to understand His Word.
May His Spirit lead you into all truth.
May you grow in wisdom and revelation.
May you hunger and thirst for righteousness.
May your life be aligned with the will of God.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
