He Reveals Secrets

11. He Reveals God’s Secrets

But it was to us that God made known his secret by means of his Spirit. The Spirit searches everything, even the hidden depths of God’s purposes. 1 Corinthians 2:10

The Holy Spirit is the one that reveals God’s secrets. God has secrets. He reveals secrets about the past, present and the future. He reveals secrets about God Himself. Every word and revelation of God is a secret given to man as light for walking.

The word of God can only be understood and accepted when it has been revealed to us. The reason we know that the word of God is a secret is because a lot of false prophets, churches and cults read the Bible, yet do not understand it, live it or glorify the word of God in their daily lives. The do not exalt Jesus.

They use the word of God as a cover for their diabolical and lustful ways. They exalt evil and despise and scorn good. They see the righteous as fools. But the real secret is that the righteous are the wise ones and they are the fools who have been deluded and deceived by the devil. They lack wisdom.

The real secret is that Jesus the righteous one has defeated sin and the devil. He has the key of death and the grave. The god of this world has already been judged and dethroned. He only rules people through deception.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1;7

Fools despise the word of God – Jesus. They hate the real message in the Bible. They twist, misinterpret and abuse the Bible to suit their lustful ways.  They lust after money, fame and prosperity yet refuse to honour and obey God and they deny the power of the gospel. They reject holiness and trade it for mammon and prosperity.

They live in darkness while professing to read the Bible because they have no Holy Spirit to make the word of God alive and shine in their hearts. The Bible remains a secret to them until anytime they decide to repent and seek God in sincerity and truth. They have been blinded by the god of this world and have veils and scales over their eyes.

Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:15-17

There is a difference between seeking God and blessings. Those who seek God love Him and look for ways to please Him and honour Him. Those who seek blessings and money as their god are the mammon worshippers who pretend to worship God. They worship mammon, the world, pleasure, and prosperity in place of God and use the Bible as cover up. God permits such people to be deceived because they hate God and love the world and every form of worldly pleasure.

The secret of the LORD is for those who fear Him, And He will make them know His covenant. Psalm 25:14

The king said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is the greatest of gods, the Lord over kings, a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this secret.” Daniel 2:47

For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie. 2 Thessalonians 2:11

If you fear God, He will show you His secrets including the ones that are not in the Bible like God’s plan for your life, the root of your problems and the solutions to your problems. He will reveal to you the secret of how to pray and get result and He will tell you what to pray for and give you prayer points. He will give you the gifts of the Holy Spirit including words of knowledge and words of wisdom.

I remember sometime ago, I was in a vision and I asked the Lord why a certain woman who belonged to a cult and was possessed ended up that way. The woman was a church goer but belonged to a dead church. The Lord replied me and said, ‘She ended up that way because she was not seeking me but was seeking blessings.’ That revelation from the Lord opened by eyes to why it is vital for us to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness and never ever seek blessings.

The Bible never asked us in any part of the Scriptures to seek blessings. When we seek materials things instead of God and pleasing God, we end up deceived by false prophets, false pastors, magicians and sorcerers who end up giving you ‘blessings’ in exchange for your souls. Beware of false pastors, false prophets and wolves in sheep’s clothing who masquerade as angels and messengers of light.

For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Mathew 6:32-33 NIV

For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Mathew 6:32-33 ESV

God wants relationships with mutual love as the foundation – He does not want to be used and He distances Himself from users and people seeking to use Him to satisfy their lusts. He draws near to those who love Him and He does not draw near to those who do not love Him. He already loves us and has shown it on the cross. We are the ones who must love Him and draw near to Him.

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive. Jeremiah 29:12-14

We are commanded to seek the Lord and how to please Him and God who is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him will reward us. We are also commanded to work hard and ask God for help with faith and humility. We are to pray and wait upon the Lord. However, if we make it our mission and passion in life to pant, lust and seek after blessings and material things, God who knows the heart sees us and we cannot deceive Him.

Our hearts must be pure – we must strive to love God, love others and do good even when it seems like there is no benefit or reward from doing good – that is the Christian’s dilemma. We must love God by faith even if He does not deliver us. Our relationship with Him should not be a trade by batter relationship- ’give me this and I will give you that.’ It should be pure and sincere like Job’s love and faithfulness.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered, “Your Majesty, we will not try to defend ourselves. If the God whom we serve is able to save us from the blazing furnace and from your power, then he will. But even if he doesn’t, Your Majesty may be sure that we will not worship your god, and we will not bow down to the gold statue that you have set up.” Daniel 3:1-20

When we lust after mammon like pagans always concerned about what we will eat and drink to the exclusion of God, without depending on God who already knows that we need those things, we will fall into the wrong hands – the devils hands and judgement will be our great and painful reward.

The Holy Spirit is the revealer of secrets and He is the one who reveals the word of God, the root of our problems and the solutions to our problem. May we always depend on Him to reveal secrets and mysteries to us.
