This Yearning Heart Of Mine

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins (1 John 4:10 NKJV)

He loved us first
Yes He did
Even when we
Were unattractive
And lost in sin
He loved us
So that we
Can need Him
And go to Him
For satisfaction.

No where to go
No where but
At the feet of
The master

No where else to go
When I am hungry
When I am thirsty
When I am naked
I have nowhere
Else to go

I will run to you
Jesus
For spiritual food
And water
To quench this thirst
Of mine
For only you
Can truly satisfy
This yearning heart
Of mine

A Great Light

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him (1 John 4:9 NKJV)

His throne is above
His Kingdom is
In another realm
He is our father
Filled with love
And mercy
He sent His son
Into our world
To demonstrate
His great love

Those who were
Once in shackles
Have beheld a great light
That gave them life
Praise God
Because
His son has
Given us life
By the great sacrifice
On the cross

Along The Way

But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. (2 Thessalonians 3:13 NKJV)

Sometimes it gets
Tiring along the way
When we keep doing good
And work hard
And things are still tough
Then we watch the bad guys
Succeed in everything
And we are tempted to
Give up our faith
Or compromise our faith

It gets tiring along the way
And we loose confidence
And forsake Christ as our first love
We begin to do things
We never did before
We become lukewarm Christians
That Christ warned
That he will spit
Out of His mouth

Even though it can get tiring
Paul is encouraging
All of us
Not to get
Tired of doing good
We must cling to Christ
And believe that
He is a rewarder
Of those who diligently
Seek Him

May God’s grace
Be with us
And make us
Steadfast and faithful
Till the end

I Know How It Hurts

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you (Ephesians 4:31 – 4:32 NKJV)

I know how it hurts
Trust me, I know

When you are betrayed
By the very ones
Who should protect you
It feels worse than
A million arrows
To the soul
It breaks the heart
And Spirit

Child of mercy
Forget the pain
Forget the sorrow
I know how it hurts
But remember
That we are all human
Just remember
That the devil can use
Anyone to break
Our hearts
If they are not truly
Devoted to Christ
That one who broke
Your heart
Was simply under
The influence of evil
He was hypnotized
To break you

The Lord is bigger
The Lord is stronger
Forget the hurts
Bitterness and grievances
And forgive the offender
Who cruelty hurt you
Betrayed you and disappointed you
Love is stronger than death
And it is only in pure love
That we can see victory
Because no one can claim
To be without sin
We have also hurt others
In the past
And God forgave us.

An Opportunity

When the enemy comes in like a flood,

The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19 NKJV)

When sorrow comes
Like a flood
We must see this as
An opportunity to
Be steadfast in
Loving Christ
And rejoicing in Him
Who has the power to crush
Sorrow.
It is an opportunity
To pray and depend
On God.

When our enemies come
Against us
He who destroys
With the breath of
His mouth
Will lift up a standard
Against them
And destroy them.

Sorrow is never pleasant
And God does not
Want us to be in sorrow
However, because we
Are human, we are
Not immune to it
God feels our pains
And sorrows
And will finally wipe
Out all sorrows
At the end of time.

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4 NKJV)

Now that we are
Still in time
We can overcome
Sorrow by constant
Prayer and an attitude
Of constant joy
And delighting in Christ
For His blood that
Set us free
Through thanksgiving, praise
And worship
It is in prayer, praise
And worship
That He manifests

Pleasing Him

finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:10 NKJV)

Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:17 NKJV)

Knowing God’s will and how to please Him is the ultimate way to live the life in the Spirit. Without knowledge of what pleases God, we will not know how to worship Him. God sent His son to show us the way to His heart.

If we make it our goal to find out what pleases the Lord, we will know Him. Knowing Him will in turn make us do great exploits for Him.

The Lord Is Mighty

And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church (Ephesians 1:22 NKJV)

He will change our weak mortal bodies and make them like his own glorious body, using that power by which he is able to bring all things under his rule. Philippians 3:21)

Who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand–with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. ( 1 Peter 3:22)

The Lord is Mighty
He rules supreme
Above every power
The waves
And winds
Obey Him
Death bows in
Awe of Him
Angels fall
Prostrate
Before Him

The Lord is mighty
Kings perish from
His rebuke
His breath destroys evil
Demons quake and
Quiver at His presence
The mountains melt
In fear of Him
And sicknesses flee
At His name

The Lord is mighty
He deserves all the praise
Honor, thanksgiving and adoration
May we never cease to praise Him
Because He is mighty.

Love All The Time

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you (Matthew 5:44 NKJV)

And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:47 – 5:48 NKJV)

But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. “And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same (Luke 6:32 – 6:33 NKJV)

Love all the time
When it’s difficult
And when it’s hard

Love all the time
When the sun rises
And when the sun sets
When it’s raining
When the sun is at its peak
And when it’s dry

Love all the time
Through pain and disappointment
Accepting the flaws of others
And overlooking hurt
And insults
And weaknesses

Love always
Without conditions
And expectations
Because
That is how Christ loved us
He loved us
Even with our
Weaknesses, imperfections
And ingratitude

The greatest love is truly revealed
When the recipient
Of that love
Has nothing to offer
And can’t pay us back
Even the pagans
Love those who love them.

Thank You Lord

To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6 NKJV)

Lord
Thank you
For your grace
And mercy
You took my place
And wiped away
My tears
My pain is your pain
And my joy
Is your joy
I bless you Lord
For your wonderful
Redemption
