I Delight To Do Your Will O Lord

It is possible for a man to be so submissive and obedient that he actually enjoys and delights in doing God’s will. If we carefully examine the lives of Jesus, Paul and David we will observe that they were addicted to God’s will and delighted in doing God’s will.

We must stop deceiving ourselves, most of the failure we see in the Church today is because many do not care about God’s will. If we don’t wake up from this unfortunate spiritual slumber and make Jesus our first love, we will keep living pitiful lives. We might be comfortable or even rich but as far as spirituality is concerned we are failures and we cannot manifest the kingdom of God on earth.

I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.  So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.  Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—  I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. – Revelations 3:15

Manifesting the kingdom of God on earth is why we were born, live, breathe and exist. Anything short of that is failure. We are called to be the salt of the earth and should give flavour to this world the same way that Jesus gave flavour to the earth during His days.

We must rearrange our priorities to fall in line with God’s priorities. Establishing the kingdom of God on earth must be our top priority. Most Christians are busy chasing shadows instead of substance. Money, money, money and fame, fame, fame. That is all some Christians are capable of thinking of, but we cannot serve God and mammon so we need to determine who we want to serve. We must choose and chase after God if we have chosen God. There is no need to say we have chosen God, yet our actions contradict our words and all we can think about is money, fame and the world. We must constantly delight in doing God’s will – that is what makes us perfect brides of Christ.
